Internet merchant software (paypal etc)

Post by pintle »

ZZZ work related topic

So, we are setting up the webshop for the micro-brewery at which I work. The ERP software package we are using is set up very much with WorldPay in mind, but is compatible with other software.

The main objection to WorldPay is that they keep the balance of any transaction for 4 weeks before passing it on to us, the retailers, and they have quite high fees beyond this.

Paypal is seemingly the obvious choice, and my colleague is researching it now (do you need to have an account with PP in order to buy through a site using them to process card payments?)

Had a look at NoChex, which seems to have appalling feedback and some real horror stories attached to it.

So what im asking, in this rambling roundabout post, is have any of you had any experience of this kinda thing, and could you recommend, or similarily dismiss, a particular software package?

Thanks in advance

while I belive that this site is quite biased since it advertises a direct opponent of paypal, it's still interesting to read since those guys supposedly started a class action vs paypal ( + it's always interesting to read a contrary view when analyzing possibilities ):

This is the company that the business I work for uses. Any time there have been issues they have been quick and helpful. Make sure you read the contract and the rate addendum. More importantly, make sure you force the higher ups to read it before hand. It's very simple and straightforward, but when setting up stuff like this, protect your own ass, because the first time something unexpected happens, you will be the first to be blamed because you made the suggestion.

Sucks, but that's the way it goes I guess.
