Masures video codec (Split)
Masure, why did you post in a format like mkv? Either way the videos borked, it caused my work computer to BSOD twice, the first time Ive ever seen a computer at work BSOD.

You exude an aura of computer failure with regards to video.AF wrote:Masure, why did you post in a format like mkv? Either way the videos borked, it caused my work computer to BSOD twice, the first time Ive ever seen a computer at work BSOD.
Re: Spring is running in SMP
VLC says IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL, you have helpful post lined up for me I take it?
Re: Spring is running in SMP
Nope, just commenting on the fact that you have issues of some sort or another with pretty much every single video posted here
VLC bluescreening sounds very much like a gpu driver issue.

Re: Spring is running in SMP
And my vlc is happy. Only installed windows 4 hours ago.

Mkv is an efficient container for video/audio streams.AF wrote:Masure, why did you post in a format like mkv? Either way the videos borked, it caused my work computer to BSOD twice, the first time Ive ever seen a computer at work BSOD.
A comp at work should be use to work and I'm not responsible of its failness concerning video playback.
And no I won't post my videos on noobtube.
Re: Spring is running in SMP
Videos should be encoded in formats that as many people can view as possible, its common sense lol.
For example, it is arguably easier to upload to you tube than it is to ftp it and get the link and put it in the post. Then it can be viewed everywhere even mobile phones! There's also vimeo etc, and god forbid, avi + zip files!! Or even xvid/divx!!

For all you knew, I could have known about a fix for that but couldn't see the video and thus never knew. Bug reports should eb as helpful as possible!

Re: Spring is running in SMP
xvid is a very common video codec; if you can't play it your computer has issues.
Re: Spring is running in SMP
No. People should be able to view videos in a good format. Standards shouldn't be defined by average people mediocrity.AF wrote:Videos should be encoded in formats that as many people can view as possible, its common sense lol.

mkv != xvid
Perhaps but we do not live in an ideal world, in such a world, everybody would need only a single codec for an omgwtf uber high quality low filesize format. Until then formats such as xvid/divx or youtube/web videos are the way to go.No. People should be able to view videos in a good format. Standards shouldn't be defined by average people mediocrity.
Re: Spring is running in SMP
MKV is a universal container.
Masure's video's codec is xvid.
I'm glad you agree with him?

You'll upload my videos on web players services but I won't.AF wrote:youtube/web videos are the way to go.
Re: Spring is running in SMP
I know about the mkv format, and my statement still holds mkv != xvid, and in future I wont be uploading to youtube. I would recommend you focus on solving bugs rather than attacking me in future.
Re: Spring is running in SMP
You were the first (and the only one) to point the video format out when people were discussing about issues solving.AF wrote:I know about the mkv format, and my statement still holds mkv != xvid, and in future I wont be uploading to youtube. Stop clutching at straws, I don't care.
Re: Masures video codec (Split)
MKV rocks! Either the splitter is causing bluescreens, which I doubt, or the video codec which is unrelated to the container.
Re: Masures video codec (Split)
I wish more players played mkv rather than throwing errors as soon as they see the file extension
