Request: Automobiles.
I'd like some low-poly automobiles for World Builder, if anybody has time and feels like giving it a go. Preferably with wheels that can be rotated, but I'll take static props, too. Polycount needs to be under 700 tris, aim for 300 or less, if you can.
I'd like at least 3-4 cars, vaguely futuristic without being Flash Gordon-esque, and a couple of trucks. Hover vehicles and practical-looking designs that are a little more specialized (fire trucks, police, construction machinery, etc.) etc. are all just fine, use your imaginations. But I really just need some basic cars for a start- nothing really glamourous, but one of those things where I thought people might have some fun. I'm doing the boring crap, like utility poles, signs, etc. tonight- I might do an animated stoplight, that could be cool.

Re: Request: Automobiles.
i'd recommend a honda or toyota or other non-american car maker; the big 3 is going to be fucked either way pretty soon
you could get a great deal from your local honda dealership for a midsize sedan if you really wanted, not sure if they've rolled out their hover vehicles '08 line yet tho

Smoth has some iirc you may wish to talk to him.
Re: Request: Automobiles.
Okie doke. Forgot he made all of that crazy stuff for that one thing, too, I'll ask him if some of it could be made available.
Re: Request: Automobiles.

Re: Request: Automobiles.
I cannot find the fucking model file. The cars are part of the federation machinist building so they are there but stuff like the lemo I would have to kitbash again.
anyway, I looked for hours. I may have lost the cars file with I lost my old mapping dir. So what I will have to do is post the base cars with a few kitbashes tomorrow. will you be able to manage with that argh?

Terribly sorry to hear about that, Smoth, I did not mean to cause an unhappy quest! I'll happily take whatever you've got.
And Bob, make those meshes available and I'll get them unwrapped, it's really not a problem at all, for stuff that simple, it'll take maybe 30 minutes per. Then anybody who feels like doing paint-up can do that.

@rattle
Those look really nice, but tbh I think you could get by a little nice with 8 sides, but meh. They do look really neat.

Re: Request: Automobiles.
It's fine, you won't notice this much anyway. 192 faces as it is now, 240 with 8 sided wheels, and I think for a feature for the former is more important. Will finish it over the next few days going for a scifi or Mad Max kind of look.
The Highwayman from the Fallout series is also an interesting motive.

Re: Request: Automobiles.
5 sided wheels might look a better with a flat side up and a point hidden against the ground, other than that it looks very nice.

Re: Request: Automobiles.
There are pretty tiny details on those for something that would be really tiny.
Re: Request: Automobiles.
With all those little bevels and the car is a box?
