Spring Network
I intend to build a small lightweight website which would act as a guild or network of spring related websites along with possibly RSS feeds and links like the facebook group or the file sites
So I bid you spam me with all your urls, rss feeds, twitters etc

Re: Spring Network
There are a LOT of people with access. Mappers, modders, even devs. The whole Idea is to release on the front page of a website as well as forums and so on.Satirik wrote:only new maps, new mods, new scripts, new spring version ...imbaczek wrote:exactly. content won't generate by itself.
Ideally it would be displayed via a browser in the lobbies, a la steam, so that way content devs mappers modders etc could show off their stuff and users would have a reason to pay attention. Not to mention the massive amount of info on there essential for newbies most of which I had to write by myself because no one would help, and even with access to front page people still don't do anything with it. If the lobbies displayed it then there would be a big motivation for people here to update the front page et cetera, but unfortunately the lobbies won't display it (regardless of how good of an idea it is), so it stagnates. It fairly constantly registers 50+ hits per day, even with the stagnation.
Re: Spring Network
A website will be used a lot if :
1)you can register with all popular browsers and not get fail making you do it many times.
2)will be easy to use and nice to look at.
3)will make it easy for people to uplaod files and maintain them.
jj's website wins cause it supplies all these demands better than any other.
If you want a popular website you need to first of all base it on the hosting of maps and mods, making this process as easy as possible.
Anything else will fail because spring is nothing more than those files.
what news are there except that a new map or mod were made..

Re: Spring Network
You are responsible for posting said content.
They? Springinfo is about YOU! That's the whole freaking point.
1) Works in IE, Firefox, Opera, Safari. That covers all popular browsers. If someone fails at the internet, that is not my responsibility.
2) Done
3)OMG OMG OMG OMG OH EM GEEE!!! REALLY??? Oh wait, it had that from the get go.
JJ's site is a completely different purpose. Springinfo is for showcasing the work of the content devs, like smoth for example. It's kinda funny. There are quite a few people registered that I have never heard of, and when you post a news item, they get an email, not to mention that the entire site is set up for RSS feeds, including the forum.
Springinfo is a site geared towards content devs showing off their work to players. If you can't understand that gota, then stop posting about it.
Springinfo is not and never was intended to be "MY" site. It was intended as a place for content developers to show off their stuff to the players, and help gain some visibility. Unlike what swiftspear said way back when, the new spring site does not serve this purpose, and tbh it can't adequately serve this purpose to the same degree as springinfo. The new spring site is devoted to the engine, and engine updates.
However, I'm sure new users love trawling this forums.
