Mac OS X clear up

Okay we need a definitive list of what has been done and what needs doing ( in svn ), and the problems that need to be solved, as well as how to build. Currently we have a hodge podge of stuff in random threads with a slew of muddled up help and support posts mixed in.

I say this now because I have a new macbook which should be able to run spring if I can get spring to actually build and run without crashing or errors, but I do not know where I would start.

well, theere are a lot of things to do...

i don't think that everything that was done by the two users who posted binaries is now in the svn, since the svn copy seems completely different from the binaries..

Some people have tried, but we didn't received any patches.

How you could start:

• Download and install cmake (because there are no working XCode project files)
• run cmake, be sure it finds all libraries. If it doesn't find one, install it. If it still doesn't find it, make patch (prefered) or post which one so someone can fix it
• start compiling, report / fix any compilation errors
• have fun playing spring on mac

i think that you should ask to Commander and Elio to post their sources.

Beside that, there is something (very old, i think) about os x in the svn, you can try to build the dependencies and build that├óÔé¼┬ª

Or build everything the unix way and begins with that.

I don't think the xcode project in svn is anywhere near up to date anyway

IIRC elio complained that his changes were not included in svn initially so he ruled it out and worked on his own effectively nuking the mac port. If Elio or commander can comment on this and finally sort this out properly then perhaps some headway can be made. I personally do not have very much experience with Mac OS X and have never developed for or with one of them since I only got my very first mac a few days ago.

it is automatically installed with xcode.

and, anyway, there are xcode project files (maybe too old).

I want to help with getting Spring working on OS X. I have an Intel Macbook Pro that has XCode installed.

I think to start we need:

• A dedicated mailing list (to keep OS X code-specific topics from polluting the official Development Forum). The mailing list will also serve as a "OS X developers roster".

What do you think of creating a Google Group, with the name "Spring on OSX" ?
