for a broad generalization of the android project,

for developer's website, with downloadable data (not compatible with windows)

Well, I was just watching this, and I realized, hey, this is a lot like LUA Widgets, except with the LUA programming platform simplified (if I understand it correctly, I am not a computer scientist).
Breakthrough stuff (if I understand it), but it's cool to see things leading up to it, although they may not know each other.
If I understand correctly, the Android programs allow you to customize, easily create, and change applications on a phone, for your convenience, or productivity. Spring is a game, not a phone, but if I am not mistake, LUA takes after much of the same idea, only a year behind in simplification.
Not trying to run an ad here, but any thoughts?

android lets you build stuff on top of it

Re: Android Open Project and Relation to Lua Widgets
Pretty much sums it up, I mean, lua is a programming language designed for ease of use and flexibility, while Android does much the same, but is an operating platform that requires you to learn to code in the usual OO programming languages and how to use its SDK, and whatnot.Dragon45 wrote:android lets you build stuff on top of it

Re: Android Open Project and Relation to Lua Widgets
actually since all userspace apps runs on top of a java VM (different bytecode format tho) anything that runs onf java vm will eventually be able to run on android
jython, jruby, bistro, and more will eventually be on android
then the closed source assholes will witness the power that open source can bring. fuck locked down devices nigga, and then all that iphone and windows mobile shit can lick my smelly shit-streaked asshole.

My my, if that were the consequence for all closed source developers, I'm sure the world would be much better place.Dragon45 wrote:then the closed source assholes will witness the power that open source can bring. fuck locked down devices nigga, and then all that iphone and windows mobile shit can lick my smelly shit-streaked asshole.
