I though of a game
I was thinking about games then I started thinking about how an abstract strategy game could be. I though of a 3-dimensional turn based strategy game with geometric forms. I would be something like this:
The playfield would consist of black, white or gray "space cubes" surrounded by gray solid blocks wich would delimit the playing field, altough these blocks could be created/destroyed anywhere under certain circunstances, altering the size of the game field (so it could would sort of grow as the game escalated).
White space and black space would sort of be oposites, a unit in black space would take white space as solid, not being able to move between then or see beyond, and vice-versa. Gray space would be sort of an intermediate: space for both colors, allowing travel from one to the other.
Units would be able to move to any of the 6 spaces siding theirs, and each would have a set number of movements per turn, just like normal turn-based games, but vision would be diferent: Units would be able to see any space to wich the the shortest way possible was devoid of obstacles (in case of 2 possible ways both would have to be blocked to prevent vision), with units and oposite color spaces being considered obstacles to vision.
The mother unit of the game would be the "cube", a unit capable of converting solid into itself, that is, a cube in white space standing next to black space could convert that black space into a white space occupied by another cube. Cubes would be also able to convert enemy units and morph into other units, each with unique abilities and ways of destroying the enemy.
An example of what kind of unique ability I was thinking of, I though about units capable of eliminating areas of the playing field, and then this happened the player could chose wich of the 6 siding areas would fill it. The idea of filling is that the area would "slide" to fill the gap, moving everthing on that area the necessary amount to fill the gap, as if the very space existed in a space (what is exactly the case). This would cause an area of gray blocks to be created in the end of the playing field to fill the gap that would arise there.
Just felt like posting this concept cause I thought it might give someone an idea, or someone might want to make it. :)

The thoughts had to be recreated and glued in place due to my crap memory.

Second option. I cant even draw two big spheres glued to one big sphere, with one of the spheres being 135 deegres away from the other, winhout my mind crashing.smoth wrote:Do you post stoned or are you mentally handicapped?manored wrote:The thoughts had to be recreated and glued in place due to my crap memory.

Actually, it's a pretty good concept. In many ways a merger between othello and hexxagon, both games of which I like immensely.
I dunno how it would work though. A 3d game like this would be pretty darn sweet thought, but it would need to be turn based.

Yeah, I mentioned it would be turn based :)Forboding Angel wrote:Actually, it's a pretty good concept. In many ways a merger between othello and hexxagon, both games of which I like immensely.

I've certainly thought something up.Related to your game idea of course.
However I have simplified the destruction of terrain.
