TASClient crash after updating

Post by RogerN »

Ever since I updated to 0.77 I cannot host or join a game. Attempting to host a game results in the following error message: "List index out of bounds"

I have tried completely reinstalling the game, including removing all my old mods and maps. I still get the error, though. Oh, and in case it's relevant... I have P.U.R.E. installed in a separate folder. Could there be some registry entry conflicts?

Re: TASClient crash after updating

Post by Satirik »

doesn't make sense ... error at line

Code: Select all

LoadMod(Utility.ModArchiveList[Utility.ModList.IndexOf(ModsComboBox.Items[ModsComboBox.ItemIndex])]);
if the index out of bounds come from the combobox it means you don't have any mods in it (or no one selected but i guess you selected one) and tasclient doesn't run if you don't have any mods, if the error comes from the mod not being in the list ... it's not possible since ModList is assigned to the combo, and the modarchivelist and modlist have both the same size for sure ... so it makes no sense !

More information. The error message is actually "List index out of bounds (-1)." I forgot the -1 in the initial post. Yes, I have mods installed. I have BA, CA, XTA, Kernel Panic, and BA Chicken Defense.

The error occurs after I've selected all the various game options (mod, player count, game name, password) and click the Host button to actually open the game. I've tried hosting a couple different mods including BA but the error still occurs.

Ack! Now I'm getting a whole different set of errors. I uninstalled P.U.R.E to see if that would help (even though it was in its own folder, separate from all my Spring stuff). The first thing that happens is I get the following error message when I start the application:
lobby\var\tips.txt not found
Then I try to host a game and get the following message:
could not find 'gamedata/parse_tdf.lua' code
Followed by:
tools/unitsync/unitsync.cpp:355: AddAllArchives: Call Init first.
After that I start getting Access Violations all over the place.
