Replay tool

Post by HeD »

Hey,

Anyone know if there are any working tools that can fast forward/rewind through replays and have any other cool features such as kill/death statistics etc.?

Cheers!

it's not possible due to the way spring works; there's only a fastforward in the engine in the form of /skip.

Does the /skip command work in this version? IIRC it was not functional at all in 0.76b1.

Why was the game speed factor in replays limited to 3?

yeah but new players wanting to watch replays should have abutton or a small gui for fast forwarding tbh.something versy simple just to make it official and not some text command u need to hear from someone cause otherwise you dont know its there.

I think the default max speed when watching replays was increased recently anyway? Or do I make this up?

Max gamespeed in SVN versions was 5 for a while, but its back to 3 now for some reason.

please make the maxspeed 100 in replays...

and could that sync response thing be removed from myself ? or something... (dunno really why it makes delayed sync response when im the only person in the replay) ...like i said in old thread, i cant pause or do anything with keyboard when i have fastened the replay too much (need to wait forever unless it reacts at my key actions).

When watching demos, the maximum speed was read from its script, which I now overwrite with 10.

For the keyboard not responding:

One could probably make a LUA gadget(or widget... why oh why did we use those names) that was specifically for replay-playback control with a pretty gui.

Speed changing doesn't even work very well in replays atm, you can increase it to 100, it'll say it's running at 100 but it's certainly not, you can decrease it to 0.3 and it'll say it's running at 0.3 but it'll go at a speed that's noticably faster than 1.0...

yeah indeed, can you also fix the automatic speed thing? its slowing down my games, and the manual speed change becomes useless, i cant even fasten the game anymore, it just runs with the "best" speed all the time and games becomes very slow after a while because theres someone with slow computer, it becomes unplayable. do we really need to suffer if someone has shitty computer? let them have their cpu lag, thats why theres + and - buttons to slow down the game if they really cant play, but geh, automatic speed really blows. (yeah i know theres been automatic speed before, but not in this magnitude).

at least make a command "/disablesmartspeed" so i could play my games properly.

Game speed has always slowed down to the same magnitude it does now, you've probably just been playing with slower players recently.

i had 100 FPS, playing alone, and my speed was 0.8 even when i tried to put it to 3. so theres a problem somewhere...

before that i was making some lag though, but still... speed went to 3 after one minute or something like that. huh.
