A Seiously Good Idea

............that would massively improve the game.

In 3 words ........ GOOGLE EARTH NAVIGATION.

I have no scripting or programming skills to help with introducing this but if you don't agree that it would be the best ever upgrade for the game then you have no reasoning skills.

Another thing. This fixed mods aspect of the game is a reeeeaaaallll draaag!! How about just creating a forced balance formula for creation of units and checking all units before a game commences. Then peeps could just download the units they want and have their own personalized mods. :roll:
Yep, I know. The above two ideas would make TA Spring too popular. The server and game lobby would be utterly overloaded! :shock: Oh well. Just give it a thought guys!

I don't entirely understand what you mean by "Google Maps Navigation". Do you mean the game field is a portion of the Earth according to Google Maps? If the API provides elevation data, that honestly wouldn't be super-hard to implement. I'm most concerned about the various calculations that go on before a game commences that might not run very well/quickly with unpredictable input from Google Maps.

Runtime balancing might not work out too well, but I wouldn't mind seeing a game that does it. It would probably end up that unit strengths from mod A being able to capitalize on other unit weaknesses from mod B much more than the designers of either mod anticipated.

I cannot claim credit for this masterpiece. I merely saved it when I saw it on /m/. Anything with Moonspeak(tm) I definitely didn't do.
