With extra-glow it looks like this (not better):

Glow on the turret hasn't be at the center, imho, at the root better.
That looks heck of a lot better :D

The original has a much bigger gun... I think that might help the new one be recognisable at distance. Also the glow is a big improvement.

Needs a little bit more work in terms of contrast. Maybe do the same as for the 3do Anni and that is make the upper base darker than the gun because right now both have about the same color and it's a bit hard to recognize the gun...

No pic of the new closed Anni yet?

Uhh... Very late. :( But I have some critique. You can ignore me, of course, but divided barrel and that forward, backward tubes damage it's appearance. Old barrel looks much better with a standard scale. If make it such, Penetrator, Shooter, Doomsday Machine's gun, Krogoth's gun must have such too. A lot of glowing parts are needless too.
It's only my imho.

Hi !
Sry, I was away from my computer these days.

Huuummm annihilator ingame <3

@ MDV : What is that "glow" ? Looks good, but is it a texture tweaking or a shader ?
And is the script unit fully working so I can release the unit in a new thread ?

@ [Krogoth86] : Humm, I've tweaked the texture to have a contrast between turret/base.

@ Crayfish : humm, I'm sorry but model tweaking are done now. It has to be released otherwise I can't move on other model.

@ Hoi : I promise I'll redo the bertha texture, but later :p

MDV > try the new texture and send me the script so I can release the unit :p
Then I'll move on a new texture

Glow = part of the unit shader which adds white at the strength of the glow map to the color as well as self-illumination (shading/shadows are ignored).

Scripts are completed (I hope).) Wait some time for full pack.

Isn't laser supposed to come out from the tip of the pointy thing?

TBH, the beam should originate from inside the cannon head and travel down the split barrel, accelerating as it leaves, only part that needs to be moved is the large flare to the tip of the barrel like Hoi mentioned.

Looks pretty good.

And Cremus, don't mind the nitpicking so much, its hard for some of us to let go the well established TA look and feel.

It's just ingrained in us after playing OTA for so many years and living with those old crusty units that we love.

@ Mr.D : ok =p

ok, the annihilator is 100% done and fully working. The firing point is fixed. Thx to MDV for the script :)
I'm gonna make a new thread in a few minutes to make a clear page to download the units 100% done.

Sooooo here is the big bertha texture (yeah yeah it's bad, it's crap etc but I'll redo it later)
http://fodb.darkstars.co.uk/files/sprin ... ertha1.tga
http://fodb.darkstars.co.uk/files/sprin ... ertha2.tga
The s3o file.

'Need a script !

And here is the next unit texture I'll do. Wind generator.
First try :

Hmm dunno, models looks good, texture too, but hmm against the annihilator it looks wired O.o
try it with blue team colours and maybe some yellow light dots or so ?

Very nice cremuss, you are improving heaps :)

Can I recommend adding a bit of wear and tear to your units, as well as increasing your occlusion shading at the joints of objects.

One thing I think your windgen suffers from a little is a lack of contrast. The tones are very similar, all being roughly a light grey. I recommend increasing the contrast, as well as perhaps the sharpness (so that the details are more visible from further away).

Oh, thank goodness, somebody getting better. Everybody else seemed to be sitting still. I'm tied up, but it seems that some people have plenty of time to devote yet haven't improved.

Good work cremuss.

The windgen jK showed is much better, a windgen isnt a masterpiece of engineering, with all kind of wires and stuff, especially not on the blades
