ADD A LINK TO THE WIKI ON THE NAVIGATION BAR!!
A link to the wiki needs to be added to the navigation bar, alot of people can't access valuable information which is shit, I'd like to clean the wiki up a bit, but only if it's added to the bar!!!!
Re: ADD A LINK TO THE WIKI ON THE NAVIGATION BAR!!
RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE and stuff.
Re: ADD A LINK TO THE WIKI ON THE NAVIGATION BAR!!
The wiki page is a glorified menu page.
Instead we need to take the development and help pages and turn them into menus making the main wiki page obsolete. This would be far more effective and user friendly than adding a 'wiki' entry to the site, afterall if your a new user and want development details which menu item will you pick? Wiki or development?

Re: ADD A LINK TO THE WIKI ON THE NAVIGATION BAR!!
See? I'm that bad in the web stuff that I failed!
I'm just saying that this is something very important, and that it needs to be done, stop saying that I should do it, I can't, and I have other stuff to do.

I suppose then we should close all hospitals and concentrate our efforts into finding a cure for everthing :)AF wrote:The wiki page is a glorified menu page.

(even if the wiki page we have is bad it should be accessible until we have something better)
Re: ADD A LINK TO THE WIKI ON THE NAVIGATION BAR!!
I didn't check the rest, but about & help both go to wiki pages.
Help links straight to the FAQ.. which reads more like an 'every irrelevant question anyone ever asked about anything page' than a faq page.
Here's some FAQs for you:
- Where do i download mods and maps?'?
No answer on the download page, the homepage, or the help page, in fact its nowhere to be seen. You can make people download tasclient and read the wall of chatspam I guess, but its hardly the route they'd expect to take to find download links.
- What are the damn controls to this game?
Again, its about 4 unintuitive links deep, Why isn't there a big link on the 'help page' to a list of commands? How are people supposed to play if all the instructions are all locked in a room in the basement?

Someone with half an hour free could do this and pass the test with flying colours

Re: ADD A LINK TO THE WIKI ON THE NAVIGATION BAR!!
I made a page that would serve as the replacement to 'development' here:
http://spring.clan-sy.com/wiki/Development_menu_test
with a handful of tweaks it should suffice while obsoleting half the original wiki menu. Something similar would work for 'Help'
I also copied the existing page on how to build spring here:
http://spring.clan-sy.com/wiki/Building_spring
So if we can update the development thread sticky and then use the new menu then things should be much nicer!

It's a wiki - don't discuss, don't "plan" - if you see a problem, fix it. If somebody disagrees, they'll revert your fix. That's when you start discussion.
Re: ADD A LINK TO THE WIKI ON THE NAVIGATION BAR!!
The Wiki needs to be fixed before there's a direct link to it imo, until then just make links to pages that are actually useful.
