Post by genblood »

I've been lazy for a few weeks doing work and stuff. So, I've
put aside some free time and be working on some new maps.
Here are some screen shots of one of the maps I'm working
on ...

UPDATE: 10-07-2008

I've complete a new called Displano-Dry-V1 you can get
it at this link:

Also, I'm working on 2 other versions of this map. One with a better
green type grass layout with tress. The other one ... still up in the air ..

So, if you like or dis-like ... post your commands ...

One thing in your maps I thyink you need to pay attention to is see how the transition from grass to rock is halfway up the cliffside? Whatsmore its a continuous artificial looking line.

If instead the rgass ended just before the slope it would look a lot better, and if it was an uneven natural looking transition rather than a clearcut line it would be better too

texture looks pretty cool now but id still like to see the bottoms of the valleys flattened out instead of all bumpy

do you hand texture? Try feathering a bit more, so your different layers blend more naturally.

hey. finish this! i like the idea. personally u should make the first texture for sure. mebe all.. a grassy tree one, and a rocky kinda mine one too. and id say smooth the valleys a tad so that vehs are possible without havin to redirect alot.

and this looks like a team map. would be real cool as a 1vs1 map

Something strange about this map..I think it looks a bit artificial.

lighten the dark green a tiny bit ( and I mean a tiny bit) and add another shade fo green to it in the dark bit to break it up so it looks more natural.

That and make sure there are lots of flat areas rather than bumpy plains.

Look into arghs world builder for trees and stuff too

I liked the first texture best. Although the last one isnt bad either. Concept looks good in a way its completely assymetrical. However you need to flatten up some of the plains for better pathing and smoother gaming experience;P

and especially start positions! If I see right the start position areas are really small and people will have hard time building up a base and econ.

Map looks suitable for 1v1 battles and small team games...
Keep up working on it !
