cheating via first person WTF!!! is you spend a long time in a turret ur base will fall apart and who cares if u get !!!111!!!!111 a extra !!!1111!!!! 10% 111!!!!!1111 range...honestly
agreed about my spacing kixxe i just hope my words are a bitter sandwich for tanelorn to swallow
Oh and btw tanelorn i challenge u too a game when we r both on i want a 1v1 faceoff. we'll see how well your OP warriors fare (maybe i'll use OP brawlers to counter them, or the com i mean he's OP as well, maybe if i used convees, they aren't that OP are they?) (OP=Overpowered)
the rest of that post is BS i mean try facing the annihilator against planes and see what happens...idiot (cost wise i.e. not one on one as with ur level of stupidity u'd think a lone level one gunship should be able to beat it >.>)

As for the ahnilator, the problem is how quickly it aims at targets. It can track a fast moving jet and shoot it out of the sky at maximum range. It has awesome power and range. A natural negative of a defense like this should be that it has a slow turret, because it's big and heavy.
Yes, but then it can't track fast moving ground units! i mean, panthers, and pyros, and warrios, and zippers... all these will just run past your ultimate defence station...

oh sure, mixed defence. Still, it needs to target pretty fast units, but still not be able to target planes. It should't be slow... it should be ''Slower''.
I'd say that mixed defense is the key. Ahnilators shouldn't be great against everything. They should be best against the heavy enemy units like goliaths, krogoths, bulldogs, etc. I see nothing wrong with fast little units getting past ahnilators. You have plenty of other weapons that deal well with them.

And I see nothing wrong with one or two fighters getting shot down by an ahnilator. It's not like you can defend your base from fighters with just ahnilators alone.

Tanelorn: this isn't UH. All defences are rounded, they have thier advatages against certian targets, but no defencive structure is going to let itself be destroyed by any unit easily. They will all take potshots at the enemy, even if they miss the majority of the time. This was an intended feature in XTA, and I really doubt it will be removed. I think the fact of the matter is you just like UH more then XTA, well get over it, the differences are intentional. Certain things you just need to learn to play against and counter. Artillery is one of them. Like I already said, L2 fighters don't show up on radar, and thus are not potshotted by artillery. Maby you should learn to incorperate that into your game.

M3M: I don't know how the hell people can defend your actions. I don't think I've ever seen a response to a serious set of concerns contain more eyeroll gifs. Not only that, but your arguments are all weak at best; most of them totally ignoring the point tanelorn made. I know kixxe doesn't think so, but I personally find it insulting that you attempt to argue your point in insulting offensive tones using mostly l33tspeak. If you act like an asshole, don't be surprized if alot more people then just your intended target see you as an asshole.

well how many times have i tried to be civil, each time he opens ANOTHER balance thread and practically copy and pastes what he said before!
And yes that was supposed to be insulting, lets see how your base holds out when you are stuck in a turret firing innacurately at targets slighly outside your range. read the post if you don't like the sarcasm and find i make valid points which no one seems to counter
oh and one for the road
(btw my previous post contained a FULL !!!!1111!!!! 4 !!!!111!!!! of these:  ) so no post before has had 4  in it?
(now thats 4 rolling eyes smileys per post :D)
EDIT: oh and note that my weak arguments have yet to be countered by you OR zsinj or even EXPLAINED

JUST SHUT UP!

Please, spare us your petty whining. Both sides. Im not tagetting any specific person, im just sick of the lot of you. EVERY forum has you people whining about something or another, and they always decend into a flame war.

We know people here have their differences. I know some people here got off on the wrong foot. I know some people here are mindless idiots with nothing better to do than whine.

I am just making a general appeal to everyone here. Please, stop trying to kill each other. It gets boring.

1) Tanelorn. Make one thread. Stick to it. Dont make 10 threads for each different release. If it get to 10 pages, who cares? It shows your thread is popular, and you have made a good point.

2) Min3mat. Try to learn some better grammar. If not for us, then for you in later life. No one will want to employ someone who cant even do some basic grammer. Capitalisation. More full stops. PARAGRAPHS. This will help people take you seriously.

3) Everyone else. State your opinion about something. State your opinion about other peoples opinions. Dont state your opinion about the person themselfs. Dont flame each other. Dont whine, bicker, and fight. And if you find the urge, write it down somewhere else, and not in a thread that might actually be useful.

4) If you think XTA sucks, and that UH has a better balance, go friggin well play UH! Some people like XTA, and dont want to play UH. Stop trying to make XTA another UH. Please.

Thank you for reading this. I ope you have taken SOME of it in. If you havnt, I will be complaning to the admins about everyone involved. I, and probably most people in the forum, are sick of people arguing over petty little things. Please, just TRY to get along. If that does not work, atleast dont try to kill each other.

look at Aun's signature. thats what i do everytime i waste time reading your posts.
Warlord Zsinj managed to go as far on the intelluctual scale as saying that my points were all wrong and urs all right wihtout reason except my english isn't perfect. You didn't even get that far, u pissed me off without even saying i was wrong
I made no comment regarding the other sides other than to say that the points raised were valid. Note how the opposing points are sequentially listed, and involve a point, evidence and a possible solution, in a well structured post. Whether or not they are right or wrong, I am far more likely to take what they have to say into account.

But on Maelstrom's account, I won't continue this any further. I have not commented on the balance of XTA itself in this thread, because I don't feel I have enough knowledge on the subject to open my mouth - I'm an OTA player, and I don't much like XTA balance. That being said, I still keep an eye on most threads, because often they turn into something spring-generic, rather than just XTA. Reading your posts frustrated me into posting, because you have been posting on these forums for a long time, and have had plenty of time to acclimatise to making your posts readible for the benefit of everyone else, and yourself.

Shouldnt artilleryshells travel faster or the explosions be bigger? Its so easy to just bypass plasmaturrets and ambushers.

I just edit the units myself if I don't like them (simple edits in FBIs usually).

Or I take the surprise of being wiped by something I didn't expect as personal challenge to compensate for it next time. In general I stopped playing XTA when I couldn't come up with a viable anti-Krogoth weapon. (I later learned this was the brawler and I'll probably use it next time.)

But just cause I thought that the anti-krogoth (and it could be warriors or anything), just cause I thought that the anti weapon was the vulcans and the XTA vulcans couldn't hit a target if it were parked in front of the barrel. (And so I was killed by Krogoths.) Just cause of that, it doesn't mean I'm going to complain about it horribly like there were nothing I could do about it. I just play UH (or OTA or whatever) or edit the units myself and play with people that use my version. Simple as that. :-)

My opinions for ballancing: Almost no one has the same ideas of what's "balanced" (I know I used to work with another free project like this. Even made my own games... I saw topics of balance get so worn out that the word no longer really meant anything more than "I don't like it cause I lose".)

Plus life isn't balanced, millitaries don't like balanced wars, it's too costly. Anyway, that's besides the point. All I'm saying is, if you want to change the balance, make your own alterations and play with people who agree with your changes. Then everyone's happy. Right?

If you want to face off with someone, just offer them your changed files, negotiate. Or use the unit blocker or something. I dunno, I'm just saying we can all solve our own problems without being mean to eachother.

The main "weaknesses" of the Annihilator are the fact that it has to unfold before firing at anything and it fires slowly. Boohoo, your Freedom Fighter got shot down, I'm sure thats a serious balance issue

*throwing some wood on the fire*
 They should give the Annihilator the feature it has in UH where it folds/unfolds with the on/off button  =P

I think we should leave SY alone about XTA balancing. I just think it seems a waste of their talents to be putting out brush fires that we could just as easily put out ourselves.

So instead of submitting complaints that aren't engine related, like the walking speed of a certain k-bot, or the hit points of this or the weapon damage of that. We should be taking some time to solve our own problems instead of burdening them with it. It slows down their work if they have to take care of simple things that anyone with a HPI viewer and a text editor could solve.

Min3 is one of the most skilled players of Spring. His comments should definitely be respected. If you don't believe me, 1v1 him and watch yourself die to level 1 units :)

And in the original ANYTHING could hit ANYTHING if you got damn lucky
In the orginal it would fire at fighters and hit once in a blue moon, that is what i was saying what do you think cant hit means?
