this mod looks promising, i've never played the original dark reign but you can be sure i'll give this a try when you're finished :)

i'm liking the mud bases at the bottoms of the buildings, in your screenshot of the headquarters the grass pokes up through the angled edge of the mud and makes it look very convincing.

well done sir, i'll be checking back on your progress from time to time for more eyecandy.

updated the main thread again. no new models today but I made a list of the features needed for this mod (became quite a long list once I realized it), and the amount of models I need to do as well (of which I already had a good idea about)
so if anyone wants to help with any of the Lua features just claim it and it'll be yours. I'd be glad :-)
Tribulex will be trying Lua Rules number 2 but more help is needed

yeah I like the effect the mud bases produce with the grass as well. the mud kinda looks off because this map's ground is mostly grass, but DR maps are mostly barren, mostly all dirt and soil. My maps will probably be like the DR maps as well, and with little grass most of that effect will be lost.

thanks for the heads up. still a long way to go but I'm liking this more and more

you could make the mud base a ground decal rather than as part of the model :)

Jungle/Alien were pretty cool too, but I prefered the barren climate most.

It is a good idea to use TGAs for GUI elements when using PS, by the way. I've experienced alpha issues with other formats. Storing alpha channels instead of using layer transparency gets rid of the nasty alpha glitches.

Also, lol
