gmn: try using a reference when modelling humanoids, map it to a plane and stick it behind the model.

smoth: thanks, felt something was off there but couldn't spot it.

Argh: slight resemblance in the silhouette and head, but it was inspired by a completely different source. Thinking of changing the guns to hands instead, doesn't feel like they fit the design.

There's tons of other good references on the net, just google it, but not at work since you'll probably come across some NSFW references.

Smoth: just some concepting practice to eventually move away from making generic-looking mecha, still not decided on where to use it.

Started texturing (just pasted in photos so far). Also: weapons (spiked club, axe, shield and massive two-handed anti-cavalry sword/cleaver)

The basic shape is interesting, but the back could do with more work - it looks like it just ends abruptly at current

Okay, these are two pictures with the texture at different resolutions. The first is 256x256, the second 512x512 (the size it was created in). Personally, I think I can get away with 256, if I mess around with a few things a bit (most notably the shield). What do you guys think?

Also, blue bits are team-colour. Think Celtic woad

You could go with 512x512 and just map 4 or more humanoid model variations to it... of course you knew that.

Unless these guys are quite large on the screen, at a typical play-distance, the 256 should be fine. Might have to smooth the shield out, but probably not. I wouldn't sweat it too much.

Guessmyname or anyone else interested, would you be interested in modeling people for my mod, if it had fat women in long team-colored dresses that had shotguns that can be spawned at a whore house in a mod?
Or a sheriff with a bazooka and a machine gun?
With dual wielding bandits that can one hit K.O. with a knife?
And horses too!

Hey, I know you've intended this to be part of the Wipeout mod you're making, but really consider adding some guns to either the wingtips or the center body for a great Bladewing remake. :P
