If you want to venture into rip-off territory, just rip-off the Tachikomas. They're about as cutesy as you can get for a brutally efficient killing machine. They even have a cutesy voice.

but but, I wanted you to try and guess, you suck :(.

The spherebot has a kinda imploded chest.

Indeed the shoulder and neck area look too bulky to the middle section... but its a bot, vital pieces can be placed anywhere you like :) The tiny middle gives a impression of fragility tough.

Could be a nice style for the currently disgusting-brick Mumbo ;-)

So, I'm digging up things that you'll never see ingame as I consider new concept art. Most of it was destroyed, but I did find the basic joint mock [Page: F Format: R] for the anti-air replacement [based on Sak's earlier guidelines].

Anyway, what is nobody else currently working on in concepts? I'd ask on the CA wiki, except that I dislike that system and I have to check these forums anyway.

I wouldn't say concepts, but I do sometimes draw things and paint them white.

I don't think that counts as painting Machio. Maybe in some modern/conceptual art class you can get away with that sort of self abuse...

I think fire turrets would be a nice addition to the mod... pyros and goliaths are so dam efficient fighting off swarms exactly due to their fire weapons, so it would make sense for there to be a fire turret, and it would also add a bit more variety to core.

Yawn. I wouldn't say cartoons, but sometimes I draw things of no functional use or applicable anatomy on the computer for the sake of comedic self-expression and a desire for attention.

It was called the immolator, manored, and it was removed from BA some time ago. Don't forget the Dragon's Claw as well. I believe Zerg committed a high tech anti-swarm turret that used flames to the concept factory, but it may no longer be there.

I know it already existed and was removed, but I think something similar to it should be re-introduced into CA.

There is no problem in drawing stuff in black & white, actually colored pencil drawings look weird, winhout color it looks better :)

Problem with that design, neddie, is there is nothing to really make it stand out from the regular spherebot, other than its lack of a gun (which isnt even a large feature). I considered that design when making the spherejeth.

Pyros and goliaths are so-so vs swarms. There is something like this in the concept fac.

It is one page from a 28 (?) page design, discussing the joint structure and the untextured front/back views, you have no idea what it actually looks like because you have two elements of a much larger design. I know, such design rigor is unheard of, but you'll need to bear with. My newer work is much simpler, since Smoth can produce from two or three views and a few words on technical readouts, I no longer feel the need to walk people through the details and can simply provide the same.

The point was, I went and put up "goods" to prove that yes, I did do something, since there was no harm in putting it up as revealing an element no longer compromises a viable whole, considering the whole was destroyed.

Anyway, you didn't address my question, so I think I have my answer. Thank you.

Pyros create such a amount of chaos and damage into a swarm that it gets pretty much inutilized, altough now that I think about it its mostly due to their ability to charge straigh into then and then explode after setting fire to everthing, what a turret could not do...
