Cannot Load game client

I have a self-built Core2Duo 2.66ghz, 2MB Ram, 64-bit vista, Ati X1950 Pro w/ 512mb, and a 4 HDD raid 0 computer.

I am an old school player who took a break and wanted to come back. However, everytime I either try and join a game or host on with a bot, I cannot load the game. It gives a black screen of death and sits on connecting to server. Does not matter what traversal method I use. I have even tried turning my firewall completely off. I hook directly into a cable modem (no router & no port forwarding needed).

I am stuck. Please help.

hi i have sometime the same probs, im stuck at connecting screen.
but sometimes same host, it works... :/
