Re: Complete Annihilation News
not to offend whoever made it, but the new shadow model in test looks much worse than the original, same with the thunder from a while ago.
I hope CA doesn't adopt some "any model that isn't from TA is automatically better" policy.

From an aesthetics point your right.
From a legal point no. Its not as simple as pure looks.

Re: Complete Annihilation News
if these were the last two models to be replaced, I'd agree.
Re: Complete Annihilation News
Once OTA content is eliminated, looks will become more important and people can remodel unpopular units.
Personally I believe that most changes so far have been aesthetically better, as well as legally. Agree that some could be improved though.

Re: Complete Annihilation News
the problem is people get lazy once they commit a model they just rarely go back to it and fix it and make it look better. Thats the problem some of the current replacements need work but people dont go back to them (spherebot is the only exception it seems).
Re: Complete Annihilation News
One problem is an overall lack of coherence in units.
Spherebot looks great, but nothing like the majority of the other ARM kbots. In fact the core Morty looks more like the Spherebot than anything other than the new (awesome) warrior model.

Re: Complete Annihilation News

I considered a number of things to say, such as admitting that the first version was pretty mediocre, but eating Krow is painful and wastes good lulz, so instead I will say this:

Re: Complete Annihilation News
I personally think that the new models are indeed ugly, but in their ugliness they look tough, and thats how a war machine should look :)
Re: Complete Annihilation News
The problem with the new shadow is not its quality or lack of quality, it is that it doesnt match any of Mr.D's models.
They're going to form the basis of core, so any new models must be consciously designed to match them.
If anything, this is channeling az's bats, which were unpopular regardless of the the fact they werent open source.
Arm is more open to interpretation and its design is still being finalized.

Re: Complete Annihilation News
Well, ca has alot of cool widgets/gadgets, I might need to *BORROW* them

Re: Complete Annihilation News
Just played a con start game where one team all went chickens.
Con start is awesome, but chickens need some rudimentary balancing if they're included as an option (and if it is, shouldn't it be a faction option rather than com morph?). All T1 chicken is way op, cost and buildtime are nothing like they should be.
