Oh ok sorry I'll try make the pictures smaller next time. There isn't much more to crop unless im not quite understanding you right. The pictures fit nicely in a single screen for me though.

It fits fine in a single screen, but the forums resize anything larger than... 600 pixels wide.

This is what I'm talking about. Cut the photo down as much as possible without cutting part of the model off.

Give it to the Zombie Panic: or Jailbreak: Source teams, they can make use of it.

Too high poly. It's crate: if you want it in an RTS, there's no need to go above 10 triangles (removing the bottom two)

It also looks like a pretty high-res texture for something that will probably turn up a lot...

It would fit well in s44 (crazy nazi experiments of doom needing biohazard crates).

Maybe see if it affects performance when used first. I'd rather see things made less awesome because they actually make an impact rather than because they possibly might if there are lots of them.

Actually, textures have more to do with filesize. I don't know about performance, but the bigger the texture is, the bigger the download. Sure it might not matter for one unit, but given that these are RTSes we're dealing with, often with over two hundred different units involved...

257kb should be acceptable  I tested it and no preformance drop when having 100 of them on castles.

Meh. The golden rule is 'if you can lower the resolution without making it look worse, do so'. The smaller the better. Especially on something simple like a crate, that only has 5-6 sides and can fill the UV map fully (ordinarily, textures have to be 128-512 in size to fit all the pieces in - with something this simple, the faces can take up large parts of the map, so you could probably get away with sizes like 64x64 or 32x32)
