i vote central nervous system. Once that develops, it can be argued that the fetus is aware of what is happening and also it feels pain. Without it, the fetus resembles a brain-dead person in a coma, and we kill those all the time dont we.

I think both happen around the same time, and by the time the fetus start looking like a human the pregnancy is at a stage where abortion can cause a big impact on the mother (not sure why) that sometimes can even result in death.

I'm not sure it's that simple personally. Not being hedonist I don't see pain/suffering as the factor that makes murder wrong. For me its as simple as, I'm a human, how can I claim to be superior to other humans in so as such to decide of my own will weather they live or die? I don't believe people have that right.

As such I'm not sure it's ever ethical to destroy complete human genetic material that has the potential to grow into an individual. It's troubling for me the concept that someone can choose to deny another human the right to exist because their existence will be inconvenient. I suppose it's some what petty, but to me, when you have a genetically complete human starting point, and it's already in the maturation chamber, you have the ethical responsibility to give it it's chance at life, simply because ultimately, you owe it the same chance you were given.

I realize the universe isn't a place governed by ethics and morals, but I personally think that that's as good a reason as any why humans should be.

Imagine no Abortion, every Mother gives birth to even unwanted Children- and drops them of a the Orphanage... just guess what ´Moral-Superior´ Christian would start to condem them for that.. yeah, right, the same who rage against Abortion now.. that´s why i am for it, it is not just a attempt to force a biological circumstance down the throat of a free person, it is the (hidden) attempt to force a Role down into somebodys life.. make free the other road, clear it of judgeing chatter, pointing fingers, evil whispers & accpet Abortion in extreme causes (no Rapes Victim deserves the further sentence of giving birth)... then Children will live..
Otherwise, you can forbid it all the way, it will still happen, hidden in private, silent, without medical aid (without it can kill or sterilize)..

So the first Step is to be done by those Screaming Murder till now..

Well apart from that I think that this attitude is a bit stupid (hooraay I now can fill any topic with my nonsense about the mating habits of sand puppies), the forum rules most certainly cover this plus splitting offtopic stuff into a topic of its own is business as usual...

But what gives someone right to do something? From your point of view, it could be discussed what gives us the right to claim that a piece of land is ours just because we got there first, or what gives us the right to kill other lifeforms to eat then just because we will die if we dont do so. In my opinion the only solution for those problems is to say there is no right at all, that is, you can do anything inside your powers.

Is it really good to live? A being that has never existed cannot fell so, therefore by denying it existence you are doing it a great harm and a great favor at once. Because of this I believe we shouldnt think about who will not exist with our actions, but how those actions affect those who are already existing. I think its obvious that it is a bad idea to let humans breed like rabits... just imagine a planet populated only by butterfly-eatable plants where someday someone leaves a few butterflies and then leaves... since the butterflies dont have the capacity of controlling the growth of their population, they would eventually eat all the plants and then starve to death.

Check your history. Hitler was socialist.

Additionally, your definition of conservatism is completely fucked and very very very wrong. Conservatism is not about restricting personal rights/freedoms and never has been.

It's interesting that the example you pull out is abortion, which is hotly debated no matter what party you are in, it's also possibly the lamest example out there.
Why are child pornography, beastiality, and other pornography laws enforced the way they are?
Oh lemmie see, maybe because they're fucked up?

Gays can marry in the states, but it is a decision that is left up to the states themselves.

Do your homework better.

Well being the georgian president and giving interviews like 24/7 for the last few days really is exhausting...

Bollocks!

I'm kind of interested in what you think about gay marriage; especially if you believe it should be a state decision, and why the state is better than the federal level.

Now let´s asume the Georgian President is raped by a Russian (or one of his own Militias)- and has a Child, do you think he should do the Abortion in a live interview? ;)

And Russia has the most important Dam in Georgia-so if they turn off the Energy and gasoline for the Generators runs out, there will be nobody left to watch the Poor Resident of Phail

PS: At Forboding. In (unscrewed)European Definition of Conservative Hitler was definatly a Part of a Conservative Revolution.. the socialist was the same thing your conservatives did, a halfhearted lending from a sucessfull political enemy

And am i am the only one who would think it a good idea, if the Russian would give this Fellow a Free Ride to Den Haag when they will return to the old status Q in Georgia?

Starting a War is still a war crime-as long as you don´t have significant Power and/or Nuclear Weapons ;)

Now for the late Night Talk Questions... what if Mao, Stalin or Hitler would have been Aborted.. i mean, there is a chance you abort a Murder.. so lets asume every third child is a potential mass-murder, i think the best would to roll a Dice before deciding.. and isn´t a Runaway (No Alimoney) Father just as bad as a Abortion(as he is a good Reason for it)?
And can we take the Suicidequote as Late-Self-Abortion, and break it down into tickets for those Pregnants who want to? Should somebody allowed to Joke around with serious anti-matters like this Tragedys?
Why are there no studys in the Thread why/when Pregnant Woman keep there childs and when they do Abort? What happens if you Abort the next Dai Lama in Disguise? If all Creatures are Reborn, is not even eating the (Mail)Worm in the apple(TM) Abortion? Can´t Crack be cheaper...
;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

I'm not saying that I'm for or against abortion or anything, because I think, it's not my decision to make or place to tell people what to do, but, for anyone who's interested in the subject, I don't think it's that big a deal if a woman who is less than 3 months pregnant looses the child. Women who are stressed out, eat the wrong thing, injure themselves, or if there's something wrong with the pregnancy and their body rejects it, frequently have miscarriages. One the other hand, late pregnancy miscarriages can be quite traumatic and bloody among other things, but are most likely for the best in order to avoid things like death during labor or having a child that is unlikely to survive in the first place.
