Re: A spring manual?
I can proof read some time if grammar is a worry.
Re: A spring manual?
Well currently is my grammar an issue?
Re: A spring manual?
Its unlikely (though not impossible) you'll find anybody who can write perfectly without proof reading after or during they write
Re: A spring manual?
I used Office 2007's Word processing program so it is unlikely to have spelling mistakes (though grammar mistakes could be spotted).
Re: A spring manual?
It is perfectly intelligible. The grammar could be improved but considering the setting it is unlikely that many people will care.
However, if you ever feel the need for someone to look over it critically I would be happy to do so. Good idea by the way!

Re: A spring manual?
Working on some editing here so excuse multiple double posts please.
First off, you wrote it from a personal perspective. It should be written from a spring perspective, for example, the use of the word "I".
This paragraph should be stricken:
Spring is a good game. Spring is not widely popular because it does not
advertise. But, its community is good (despite several cases of foul language
being used).
This paragraph needs to be reworded:
This unofficial manual shows how to get Spring running and covering the basics
of how to play Spring. Many more people are there to help you at #newbies at
the Spring lobby, just type /join #newbies at the lobby chat box and you will be
forwarded to a room with people that are ready to help you.
New users are by default added to #newbies.

Okay, I├óÔé¼Ôäóll just stop babbling about and just jump straight into it:
The lobby icon should look something like that.
The lobby icon should look similar to this:
Be careful when using tense (past, present, future). In many cases your tense is completely unacceptable.
Oh boy, nevermind. This is a disaster from a professional POV. You have done a good job explaining things, but unfortunately this entire document would have to be re-written to be acceptable as an official spring manual (which would be nice to have).

Re: A spring manual?
I do not think it is wise to refer to any particular lobby client since you may put tasclient images in there and the end user is using spring lobby, etc etc etc
Re: A spring manual?
When this has proper grammar, I could add it to the installer.

I personally know two such people.AF wrote:Its unlikely (though not impossible) you'll find anybody who can write perfectly without proof reading after or during they write
Re: A spring manual?
A E-Manual would be practical..

Re: A spring manual?
emannuel to write the Emanual
Re: A spring manual?
I am no professional. I am a newbie in TASclient, mostly because that I only play single player.
Re: A spring manual?
By the time your manual is finished this may not be true:When you install Spring, the lobby you get is TASclient, isn't it?
- Some players may not install tasclient in the installer options
- TASClient may have been replaced by battlehub or spring lobby in a future installer
- TASClient is updated and thus your images and instructions may no longer apply
- The installer may give a choice of multiple lobbies to install in future
- The installer the user got may have been a custom installer not the generic spring installer, and thus tasclient may not have been included
- Lobby instructions should go in a lobby manual
Re: A spring manual?
Well, you can't truly start a game without using the lobby (except for Commanders script)...Wonder what is Crayfish editing my .doc now....
Re: A spring manual?
Spring SP, and the new singleplayer stuff in tasclient?
Re: A spring manual?
TASclient is itself a lobby-thingy. SpringSP is abandoned, sadly.
