it'd make more sense if the little bear was a prosthetic leg dressed up as a bear by the big bear.

FA you talk some utter drivel sometimes, where is all this oil you have exactly? You've been an net importer for a long time. You simply dont have the logistical ability for you to fight the russian forces in their own territory, im pretty sure even bush isnt that fucking dumb. There is no way the US or any other western country would send trops in over somthing like this, it would kick off the biggest fucking war since WW2.

Whats all this crap about "other countried not having hte balls to stop russia"? What do you expect to happen exactly, leaders can denounce it / call for diplomacy but thats it.

foreboding, I did not state every single fact and possibility. I suspect you are aware of information I did not put in my post. Most likely a reason for the conflict to occur that does not involve anything in my post, thus invoking a huge chain of logical fallacies, namely that a valid answer must mean all the other valid answers are wrong, or that there is only ever one motive answer or justification.

Eitherway Im just repeating what the media have said.

For someone who thinks americans should know and/or give a shit about what happens in europe, you sure are ignorant of the US. We have TONS upon tons of oil here.

Georgia is our ally. We don't take kindly to countries pushing our allies around.
Eitherway Im just repeating what the media have said.
And that would be your first mistake.

As KDR stated, "Can't do" doesn't mean "Won't do". I agree that it would start a shitstorm, which is why I suggested it as a ploy.

I remember afganis being the allies of the us once, and the us selling guns to iraq. great props for the big daddy america for being loyal allies to these 2 countries.

Yeah and im sure the russia will take the subtle hint of moving a nuke sub lightly by launching their fucking nukes as a pre-emptive strike.

You have to remember that the nuke subs/bombers/missiles are a part of a nuclear triad, so threathening russia with nukes wouldnt go lightly

Also what you said about russia's airforce being poor isnt exactly true either. They provided radars to serbs who spotted a "invisible" us stealth bomber and shot it down, and the russians have proven themselves in aircombat in korea (mig alley) and vietnam

Nuke sub was satirical. That should be obvious. The point was a show of force. A toothless wolfpack if oyu will.

Umm yeah, the US isn't using f15c's as commonplace frontline fighters anymore. The f22 completely outperforms anything the russians have.

About afgan... Look no government is 100% perfect, and ours has made some blunders (and so has yours...), but the principle still stands.

Not many Smericans were real happy about leaving the kurds out to dry either, but it happened.

Ultimately the president is commander in chief for a reason, and sometimes that president is a real dumbass when it comes to military matters (Bill Clinton anyone?).

No government can do the right thing all the time, it's statistically impossible for a country of this size, BUT those of us with brains do try. Our congress is full of complete retards right now on both sides of the aisle. The best thing to do is vote those people out of office, but this IS a democracy, and positions are handled by the democratic process. No one side has complete control for an unlimited amount of time.

yeah the russians will be like totally dominated, you still have time to send your aircraft carriers to russia, if one of those carriers can house a thousand fighters you might stand a chance~,~

Well comparing how the russians dealt with ossetia compared to how us dealt with afganistan and iraq, i'd say the russians did their job rather well

I haven't replied before because it would just be "what" a thousand times, but this really takes the cake. Hmm, yes, invading Iraq, just what I think proves somebody isn't a real dumbass!

How does calling Bill Clinton a military "dumbass" suggest that George W. Bush is not?

Imagine you would be in charge of the mess, the useless Attack, the Retreat, the Crisis & Refugges, your loss of Power, everything. Now Mr.Exile... Mr.Ex- Mr.President of formaly Georgia- can we have a one Sentence Statement, a Reason for the Situation?

"Well, ahem.. we did play Warhammer 40K, got drunk and the CleanUpLady handed the Movepapers down to a General in Charge. I regret Nothing.. shit happens!"

I know that is a weak example.. you can do better than that.. let´s help, give the weak excuse-competition a chance.

The source of all information in this thread is the media. I sincerely doubt that anybody in this thread is currently or was in the previous few days firing weapons at enemy soldiers in South Ossetia.

FA, the raptor (F22) isnt your current mainstay frontline air superiority fighter, Its still in hte process of replaceing hte f15 (and with the Su 24 or whatevber it is is most definate;ly its equal), which far outnumbers it. The current order book stands at at less then 300 hundred a beleive, and of course it isnt operated from carriers, so it wouldnt even be a factor in a war with russia on its own territory. You spout bollocks about things you've only vaguely heard about, or only the parts you want to beleive.

The fact is you do NOT have "tons and tons" of easily extractable oil. You are a net importer for a reason, and the reason is exactly the same reason the UK became a net importer a year or two ago. You dont have supplies the can be extracted in a way thats cheaper then buying on the open market, even at these huegely inflated prices.

And to say im Ignorant of the US is laughable. I've spent more time there than any other place bar where i live and work currently, have a US visa and like to think im fairly reasonable in my assement of "all things US". Unlike you, i dont get my information from fox news, or most other media outlets, atleast when it comes to certain subjects regarding defence. I dont live in a fantasy world.

I wonder why all discussions in this forum about serious matters sound... hostile. I hope nobody here ever becomes a country leader :)
