Replays

Post by UAF »

It seems that I can only watch replays of games I hosted. T_T
Any idea why and how to fix it?

Computer info:
OS: Windows XP, latest service pack and updates
CPU: Intel Core2Duo 2.2Ghz (E4500)
Graphic card: GeForce 8600GT
Ram: 2GB DDR2-800

And I have ground decals off

Doesn't work, I want to try a replay made by someone who was hosting at the time, but I don't have one at the moment.

Fair question. Especially since I just managed to see a replay that I didn't host in the Tropical map.

However I can't watch replays in most other maps.
I press ready, then start, then I one of those messages:
"list index out of bounds (-1)."
"I/O error 32"

It seems there might be more to the problem, but I can't detect a pattern yet besides the fact that if I hosted, I can surely watch the replay, and in most other cases I can't.

One question: if you look in your mods directory, what do you see? Can you tell me the filename(s) for your ba mod?

I managed to watch a replay that someone else made (he was host) after changing BA631.sd7 to BA631-1.sd7 , although then my own replays couldn't load until I changed it back to BA631.sd7.

At any case at the moment that's the name of the BA file in my mods folder, together with BA61.sd7, which I don't play.

okay, heres the thing

copy BA 3 times

name one BA631-1.sd7, one BA631.sd7 and one BA_Installer_Version.sd7

that should help.

This is currently a bug with spring, you cant watch the re if the host had a diff modname as you.

edit: that BA631-1.sd7 was the replay from me, no? I had to make a file like that to watch a re of another game :D

Yes that was the replay by you.

Ok, I've just discovered that I can watch a replay by double clicking on the name without opening a battle room window for it. It seems that in this way I can watch all replays. (WTF?!)

However, when trying to do it through a battle room I still get the same errors...

going through battle room?

you dont need to host a replay, there is replays button in TASclient where you can browse them.

That's what I've found out now :)

Still, I guess the bug report is valid, even if I can watch replays privetly without problems
