Firefox is missing from that list. Using it is the most efficient way to be immune to viruses that target IE. ActiveX doesn't work in Firefox so that gets you rid of half the virus (virii?), and it doesn't pop up yes/no windows for your sister to click. Don't use the Java Plugin from Sun in Firefox unless you keep it constantly up-to-date. Also keep Firefox itself up-to-date (next version, 1.5, will feature a configurable auto-update).

My bad, I have Firefox installed and properly set up. I also have Thunderbird. Get this my sister was using Firefox when it happened.
