A seemingly odd issue...

Post by Gishank »

For some odd reason, i am unable to Join, or Host a game. Yes, i do play directly through a router, HOWEVER, before you tell me to, none of the ports on my router are blocked. So, some help would be appreciated.

umm yeah... is your computer in the routers dmz?

If not, then those ports are blocked.

1) The utterly rubish issued Windows Firewall isn't active.
2) As i said in my first post, TA Springs port requirements are not blocked.

if you're feeling brave, install wireshark and investigate the issue. we can't provide much help with so little info.

you might also try to run spring in a window and try various port checkers found on the net.

wireshark is a network traffic sniffer, google it - but if you didn't know what it is, you may need quite a lot of learning to make something out of what it says. try to host in a window and use a port tester like http://whatsmyip.org/ports/.

With wireshark you learn why doing much of anything at all on an unsecured wireless connection is a bad idea. ;)

What makes you assume it is Wireless? z0MG!

But on a serious note, yes, i know having very few ports blocked on arouter is bad for numerous reasons. But meh, it's too much hassle unblocking them constantly in my opinion, considering i'm forced to restart my router every 24 hours.

Anyhow, guess, i might try and make it secure and safe the config, and load it constantly XD
