The actual arm of the crane is about 10 tris or something. I used transparency to mimic the effect of it being made of\.. you know what I god damned mean.

does S44 have some sort of deployment mode btw?

I sort of like the idea of throwing little ww2 armies at each other without a resource system.

To answer the question very late - Nemo fiddled with one but never got it working. His missions work though. And a true deployment mode will probably be done at some point.

Now I wonder how that gun will look when it's being towed by a truck. Should have a special anim for that, with supports being raised and such.

I had it working, Machio even played it. It was just not worth the effort and was rather crash prone.

Maybe in the distant future it will return for some kind of siege mode.

Yeah, it'd be interesting to have some sort of semi-scripted multiplayer games, ie one player controlling German defenses, the other American amphibious landing forces, etc.

I suspect that torn up airplanes didn't do so well. Doesn't real military try and maintain their aircraft?
