k, im not sure if u mean this, but try this (if u dont did it):

when i try do dl some spring-related stuff and the ask the browser asks u waht to do, try to open the file with spring\archivemover.exe. ur spring-related files will be put into the correct folder and dont try to open the *.sd7-files with winrar

I think he is using archive mover, but his account privileges are stopping it from actually moving stuff or something.

try to manually move the files to the spring-folders:
maps go to ...Spring\maps\
mods go to ...Spring\mods\

imo this is a perfect example of why mods/maps belong in user space

i'd find it mighty strange if he could download a file to a location without problem, but then not remove it again

you did get that if you know what you're doing you can still pool your stuff wherever you like?

how about i put a textbox for SpringDatadir into springsettings (with browse dialog even) then? should be the least possible amount of work for you :P

btw, SpringLobby already has that

I think the least amount of work would be putting the stuff in program files :-

you could add that option so confused people could check where the files are, though program files is pretty obvious.

Program files is locked down hardcore by vista (thank you linux for giving m$ that... excellent... idea).

The rest of us wanted either c:/games/spring or c:/spring or somesuch cause then the OS doesn't give a shit, but alas. Failuserdirs won the fight. And now when .77 is released my installer is 100% fucked.
