[bug?]random start point after forced start

hi,
today i tried to play my first game after a while and it ends in bugusing :(
it seems if you dont pick a starting point in the boxes and the games is forced to start you spawn random on the map. resuling that one comander spawned right next to mine

how did you start the game? with spring.exe or through the lobby?

It isn't "random" it's the order of the player list and using map start positions. This is why I wanted the order of players added back into TASClient (and it is in TASClient, FYI). It has no way of detecting where the boxes are and placing the players in the appropriate boxes. It's just an improvement over the old "start in absolute corners" shit.

So it's not really a bug, you should probably post in feature requests if you want automatically placed start points within allied start boxes and avoiding starting near allied players...

I'm guessing there's a reason no one's bothered to do that yet though.

I'm guessing the reason is that you should not be force-starting unless the player has dropped, in which case a .take should fix the problem ;) (unless its an enemy comm, in which case there would be some lulz first)
