From what I remember, it was a couple or three messy files, you will have them uploaded tomorrow.

Right, it's probably best to leave the drama to the professionals. :)

Probably plenty of things left that can be tweaked. I mostly used the sliced images from the first design, so one thing would be the faded-out version of the three middle bar images. And something to separate the news posts, I think I managed to turn the news into yet another wall of text. :)

I've tweaked the layout of the general wiki-based pages a bit more, so they are at least somewhat readable. But they could surely be improved by a better design. And there's always the forum integration, but perhaps it can just be dropped in as-is similarly to the wiki to start with.

There's also the question of what you intended should happen when the navigation links above the video clip are clicked? Still just a placeholder image there though.

You could dynamically change the small content box with some javascript.

That logo needs more anti-aliasing... don't like the pixellation on the sun shape. Also the spotlight to the top left. That isn't present in the previous one. Hadn't noticed til you put them side by side but the sun itself looks inferior (although the overall design is more striking).

No. The top one is so much better. It's balanced, smooth and not overpowering with use of lower and uppercase.

You do realize its downscaled from something like 3000 piels high? Of course theres going to be aliasing of some sort if its being viewed in a browser

Eitherway its the official logo. Use it or change it, but above all stay consistent.

Don't listen to AF, we don't like his logo. :P

I could live with the current one, despite that it still looks like a vista button.

Tobi gave the go ahead.

If you notice, the logo is all over the new installers, its in the spring icons, and right now even if it wasnt (which it is) its still the best thing you've got.

Right now all we have is a handful of people who are known to attack me at various intervals attacking my logo, some of whom previously praised it, and claiming the community hates it with no proof.

I like the logo. IIRC I seem to remember tobi saying that this one was adopted by spring. So unless I hear otherwise I seem to recall af's logo being official.

oh for the love of christ you idiots. lern2rightclick>view image

The thing AF posted is fucking massive, which means that it will look freaking amazing when scaled down.

Also, according to tobi, AF's is the official, which is a good thing, because his looks far superior to that red bullshit.

Can we all keep in mind that in the past satirik has been mortally offended by blue to white gradients.

But yes, I asked tobi if the logos were good enough to be official and for permission to put them in the svn and he gave the go ahead.

As for vista blog style, erm, this is not Vista blog style at all, they're too bright and colourful for Vista, if anything they're Apple not Vista icons.

If people wish for the roflcopter version to be put forward as the official logo then start a thread, produce artwork and icons to replace what I've done and gain the backing of tobi and the rest of the community. Either way this is not a logo thread this is the website thread.

And you should know better than to troll me in here when there're plenty of other threads Im in ripe for the picking. Go do it in a thread that wont derail important community stuff

Mac/Vista, same shit(ty look). It's got nothing personal to it for me... nothing at all. I'd expect such a logo on top of a boring blog. That was my point.
