I don't know does the fact that I have no base buildings, incosistent and outright contradictory designs to work with count as NOT. Also the fact that I have to model it all, texture it all and see it through in game? Yeah I think I have NOTHING to thank them for.

They just came in and did it all for me so well that I am still working on it. Of course what are you doing? Making cheap barbs? Yeah way to help CA.

Looks good. I'd get rid of the upper tracks since you can't see them

Hoi.. how the hell are you going to separate the legs into moving parts so you can animate them? Looking at a skeleton might help..

the knees on that lack the most important quality of a knee... they cannot bend. also, the ankles could do with some work for the same reason.

Hoi, proportion issues aside, that shows a clear misunderstanding of how Spring's animation system works. I recommend investigating further, especially looking at existing infantry models (Star Wars Spring 1.0 has plenty examples).

Otherwise, as you're still learning I'd probably recommend sticking to things with as few moving parts as possible; ie: tanks, vehicles, aircraft. Humans and other bipeds are very difficult to do properly, and need a solid understanding of both proportion and the animation system.

i havent animated more than 2 turrets yet, so i wasnt really thinking about animating when i made this, now i look at it i see it cant be animated proper, but as my first try as somethign that looks like a human i didnt do really bad i think, but i will stick to tanks, aircraft and buildings for now:)

Mr.D doesnt work for us. He is doing OTA remakes. They have Core logos and some of the units he makes arent even in CA anymore.

I am talking about you, smoth, when i say full time art developer. CA does not have the benefit of having someone with your skills on its team.

I have made a few models for CA myself, but there is a lot of work to do...

Dont whine about people making OTA mods when OTA is the only decent base from which to make a mod. Not everyone here is an artist, and you dont have to be an artist to have a great, clever game design that deserves to be produced. If you dont want people to use OTA content, they must be offered an alternative.

Ive no interest in derailing this thread so thats all ill say.

No offense but how long is CA around? There was plenty of time for some of you to pick up the necessary skills...

but I know you can do it if you try saktoth.

Hoi, I would scrap that one and start over. Sometimes with a model you need to cut your losses. I do not see much on that model which needs keeping. Redo it and I am sure it will come out better.

"polygon counts" are measured in triangles, your model looks like you counted actual polygons.
