What do I do?

So I'm a total noob at this but I have had a lot of experience with Total Annihilation. I was going to play it the other day and was looking online for some stuff for it and I saw this. Spring. Apparently a remake of Total Annihilation. Sounded awesome so I downloaded the Installer and got it installed. Now what do I do? How do I play it? Did I install it correctly?

same as with other games ? start menu -> programs -> spring -> lobby, register an account and login and then host or join a game

yes, also spring is more than a ta remake, its an engine that runs games, some of these games are bases on ta

Well is there a way I can just play like a skirmish? Like in the origional TA. Whenever I play my system gets sluggish. And I'm using a core 2 duo processor at 2.6 Ghz, 4Gb of Ram, and 256 Mb Nvidia Quardo FX 570m.

host a game and add a bot. wont learn much from that though. the bots totally suck ass.
