So is anyone more experienced than me interested in doing this or I'll have to do it myself?

Not meaning to sound demeaning... but unfortunately on a project like this one, waiting for someone else to do it might as well just mean not wanting it done at all. If you're basically capable at very least get started. If you put the busy work code down and get stuck people will be more willing to help, or just rage because you suck and therefore do it themselves.

If you don't start it you're rolling the dice as to weather someone ever will.

It's not like I'm waiting for someone else to do it, but from what I've done so far, I know it can't be done just with pure HTML, and pure simple HTML is all I know right now.
Of course, I can learn what I need and then do this, but it can take longer than having someone else to do the website in the first place.
And I think you want the new site deployed as soon as it's possible. :?

Hate to break it to you, but photoshop mockups are basically worthless. Especially when they aren't designed to be fluid.

Additionally, what about the other pages that aren't the front page? They can't even use this design, making it even more useless. You get a really neat looking first page and then.... letdown.

However, if the site was done in flash, the mockups all of a sudden become much more useful.

Anyone planning to pony up the $150?

I didn't say it can be done. I said it's basically worthless. The reason I say that is, it takes far longer to set up. Especially for a front page.

That said it wouldn't be impossible to make it other page ready. It's just a major pain in the ass.

imo people are focusing so exclusively on the aesthetics of the frontpage that its essentially nuking any progress.

Imagine a little progress bar with new site deployed at the end. Currently its inching backwards not forwards.

:?:

The mockup was made to have an idea of the style and overall looks of a website. The other pages that aren't the front page were supposed to follow it's aesthetics. It would make no sense to use exactly the same distribution, but obviously they would use the same design principles. Thanks for the links.

That imaginary progress bar will always inch backwards, at least if the focus remains in the aesthetics and if so few people actually do something concerning them.

was done in in shop. I spent more time in frontpage typing shit.. yeah I did it in frontpage HUR HUR.

Photoshop is used by professional web developers and if you think shop is useless then you need to learn about SLICES and the fact that photoshop can do your basic layout and then you can refine it in dream weaver.

of course what would I know

ha ha ha wow, that is pretty funny. Well to each his own, I learned to do layouts in shop an dream weaver. Hell, when I took digital art for web design I was already there because I learned it from an internship.

It is funny that you have read that, I have not seen an article suggesting that yet.

Slicing is really bad web design. This has been an accepted fact for well over 6 years.

He's not as active anymore, but sometime check out http://webpagesthatsuck.com/ if you're interested in more detail n stuffage.
