Re: Balanced Annihilation V6.31
So is there a list of Lua widgets included with BA so I can go remove all my local copies? (Since user widgets take precedent over mod widgets and I'd rather use whatever is the most up to date and bug free.)
Re: Balanced Annihilation V6.31
In the same spirit dgun limit should not be usable for BA games.NOiZE wrote:Truths

I've never heard as much hate towards BA as there is now. If they don't switch the autohosts to default towards the old way (where you can walk your com and lose it and still play) I will not be playing much anymore.

Well @ least put it on the commander mode then (Your team loses when all commanders of a team die)
Re: Balanced Annihilation V6.31
QFT. I'm 100% in favor of this, and tbh, I'm quite proud of NOiZE for standing up for good ol' hardcore play. Down with porcfest DSD games, up with Ashap! >_> <_< ...ok, so I'm probably the only one who likes Ashap, but meh, you get it...YOU ARE THE COMMANDER
WHEN YOU DIE, YOU ARE OUT OF THE GAME
Splattering this on your loadscreens warrants a 6.32 in itself.
Don't splatter on the loadscreen, though, splatter it on the game screen at start of that game type, it'd cause less confusion.
Re: Balanced Annihilation V6.31
Along with anyone who's ever played ota outside "15 MIN NO RUSH" rules ~~I'm probably the only one who likes Ashap
Re: Balanced Annihilation V6.31
Yeah, but frankly, I didn't think anybody of that description actually played SpringAlong with anyone who's ever played ota outside "15 MIN NO RUSH" rules ~~

Re: Balanced Annihilation V6.31
Haven't tried it yet, but at this point it'd be nice to be able to move the "game ends" option into the modoptions list, just for consistency... although I'm sure that's probably hard-coded crap.
Re: Balanced Annihilation V6.31
yep, hardcoded, can't kill any of those options even if we don't want them.

and nothing of value was lost.Scratch wrote:I will not be playing much anymore.
Things link dgun in start area, comm ends etc should all be moved to mod options. DOWN WITH HARDCODED SHIT! Speaking of which the new econ needs a slider for it's starting resources... /me runs off to maek noets....

Re: Balanced Annihilation V6.31
In my opinion if the units dont blow its not comms ends. If its not comms ends, it might as well be comm continues and keep it simple.
I agree that it should be played c. ends. What i dont agree is that losing one player's stuff ends the game. Well at least not in the maps i see played most. Don't be sissies and play pure ends.
In this setup, one ends up taking out a weak player's comm and having a strong player take his stuff... a net loss for the attacker.

Re: Balanced Annihilation V6.31

Do you have the latest springie?
Re: Balanced Annihilation V6.31
Stuff explodes when the last com falls, pure com end punishes teams that work together and rely on each other because they would lose one of their functions in their team while a disorganized team where everyone does his own thing wouldn't lose much. With com control they lose one player and are one com closer to elimination but don't lose a part of their economy/base/etc.sillynanny wrote:In my opinion if the units dont blow its not comms ends. Re: Balanced Annihilation V6.31
Im not convinced by com control, I prefer regular com (all coms on ally dead = game over). My issue is that in a big team game, if you trade early on for whatever reason, you're out of the game and someone else gets your eco, factory etc. To me, this is a big pile of suck and makes the early game potentially really ghey. Imagine 2 coms both rush for the middle. If the enemy com refuses to fall back then your only option can be to trade (fall back and lose ground). But if you trade, then two players are out of teh game in the first few mins even tho their bases/eco are still all there. I don't like it. The only solutions I can think of are realy artifical and horrible and reduce to the unworkable anti-greifing strats proposed elsewhere. So I think com is a much better mode to be default for large team games...
