If germany's midfield and defense hadn't decided to take a nap for the first 60 minutes... they were pathetic as usual. Spain has shown lots of good play however.

you can get the fox soccer channel in the US, i think it usually shows premier league games a day or two after they actully happen, and the commentary is awful :P

Also saw the first few games of the last rugby world cup out there, first england match was against america i think ^^

This soccer game (and at least the two games from the round before it) were on TV, ESPN for the last round and ABC for today's game. You didn't even need cable or anything like that to watch it :P

At least the basic rules of soccer are easy to understand, as opposed to Baseball...

was a good match spain deserved the cup

and i agree with kdr football (uuurgh i hate wen people call it soccer) is easy to understand the only rule that can cause new people confusion is probably offside which is easy to understand after 1 or 2 times of seeing it

offside is tricky, you need to know when the offside line is set by a field player, when by the ball and when by the goalie. I agree that it's the only confusing rule in football, though.

Germany was utterly bad this entire championchip. They got lucky when facing only weak or mediocre teams.

Also I support child abuse.

If you're really so interested in my opinion you're willing to unleash such immoderate punctuation, I will elaborate.

I think sports of any type aren't something to get excited about. I'm mainly concerned with two aspects:
1) People getting paid to pay a game, amounts of money other people who do real work will never see in their lifetime - and then often complaining about not getting paid enough
2) It encourages school sports programs, which are a waste of time and money and provide no real-world benefits. I'm not against exercise, of course, just the fact that "college sports" and "college sports scholarship" are nouns and not superhilarous jokes. It frightens me to think that in a world where incompetence and general dumbness are at such a high rate, we value a person's ability to propel a sphere into a designated area more than we do their ability to, say, read and write.

Anyone dumb and useless enough that the only valuable service they can provide to society is to "be athletic" needs to be held back and not allowed to graduate until they are no longer dumb and useless.

Plus I wondered if anyone still cares enough about me to post an angry reply.

"College sports" pretty much doesn't exist in much of Europe, and this won't change, at least soon.
