Re: TASClient Single Player mode
Like I remember where I saw that guide. nLite removes IE, anyway. XPlite can do it later, but I don't remember where the instructions for doing it manually were. It's certainly possible in any case.
Re: TASClient Single Player mode
it's a pain in the ass and nobody does that because that's just stupid
Re: TASClient Single Player mode
Which is why I didn't say it wasn't stupid. Just possible.
Re: TASClient Single Player mode
It's quite easy to do, and there are reasons for doing it.Satirik wrote:it's a pain in the ass and nobody does that because that's just stupid
Re: TASClient Single Player mode
You can remove internet explorer via windows components which removes internet explorer and leaves only the core rendering components that XP needs to function. This was not originally possible but it was done due to court rulings in the EU antitrust cases against microsoft.
There's also the 'n' version of windows XP that does not come with media player and internet explorer pre-installed. Again this is once again thanks to the EU.

Re: TASClient Single Player mode
why is there a mission mutator file inside the mission-package but also in the mods directory? they both contain the same files, but it seems like only the one in the mods directory is being used when you play a mission/campaign... just trying to understand how this works
Re: TASClient Single Player mode
because i could make it load the mutator from the mission directory so it's copied in the mod dir
Re: TASClient Single Player mode
XP doesn't "need" IE rendering to function and you can remove that too. When I did only a few not so important control panel windows didn't render properly.AF wrote:You can remove internet explorer via windows components which removes internet explorer and leaves only the core rendering components that XP needs to function.
Re: TASClient Single Player mode
please stop talking about that ... it requires IE ... okay ...
Re: TASClient Single Player mode
Requiring IE seems like a terrible move: why not make it support firefox so that Linux users aren't neglected?
Re: TASClient Single Player mode
tasclient is windows only (And please stop arguing about that)
Re: TASClient Single Player mode
TASClient has only a couple of Linux users (with wine), and as far as I know none of us care about this.

Re: TASClient Single Player mode
Would still be nice for us to have a cool singleplayer option like this?
Re: TASClient Single Player mode
Does anybody tried SP mode with wine for fun ?
Re: TASClient Single Player mode
Anything related to the SP mode was crashing for me (and I wasn't even trying it).
Re: TASClient Single Player mode
I don't know anything about linux + wine + tasclient but if the trouble comes from IE requirement, could someone check SP + wine + this : http://www.tatanka.com.br/ies4linux/page/Main_Page
