It's recently come to my attention that the sonar and radar overlay colors are both identical. And I'm only bringing this up, because I've just finished a game where I had a really great radar grid setup on a mostly water map, but afterwards when I tried to setup a sonar grid I found I couldn't decern where the holes in the sonar grid were, seeing as my radar grid was overlapping and obscuring all those holes.
Now sure, I could have temporarily shut down my radar grid and checked the sonar grid that way... But, I was just wondering if it could be possible to just alter the overlay color of the sonar to say... White, or blue, or something else like that? (Sonar Jamming might also require a color, seeing as I found the flibber had no overlay color to it's sonar jamming. Or at least I didn't notice any overlay radius at all when I activated my flibbers. And I assume that sonar jamming is a functioning part of the game, isn't it?)

Min3mat: Thanks that answers that question (wasn't sure if sonar jamming was even implemented yet.)
IMsabbel: Speaking of LOS... I was wondering if they could install the old No LOS from OTA in the lobby. Also that idea's (togglable independant LOS/Jam) not that bad I think, (though my voice had no weight what so ever in all of this so my concurrance probably means about as much.)
OH! That reminds me, a slightly annoying LOS bug, if I press "L" and then either A) build a mine or B) press F4, I have to press "L" twice to get my LOS view back. (LOS probably ought to be on be default, but not frozen on. I'm just thinking about newbies who don't know enough to press "L" at the start of the game.)
(Off topic but I was playing Spring with a newbie, helping him learn the ropes, it was a 3 way game and after two hours of playing he accidentaly pressed V, the codec menu showed up. And by the time he got it to go away he'd lost his connection to the game. I was just wondering if someone could do something about that bug as well.)

Haven't I read this somewhere before...?
Well, no matter. Here's my two cents.
Radar has two colors for it, one for radar and one for jamming. They just happen to be opposite ("complimentary", whatever...) colors: Red and Green.
What if Sonar had it's own two colors, Blue (sonar) and Orange (jamming)? They wouldn't get muddled with Radar, they make some sort of natural sense to use, and they're complimentary too. It might get a little ugly when LoS, Radar, sonar, etc. get overlapped, but that's got its own solution too: Use rings instead of color-carpeting in LoS-mode ('L' key, I dunno what people call it).

There is a fix (although admittedly not a simple as it could be!) it is to change the keys using the settings to something further from ctrl z! (imo the bestest command =D)(Off topic but I was playing Spring with a newbie, helping him learn the ropes, it was a 3 way game and after two hours of playing he accidentaly pressed V, the codec menu showed up. I have an idea that will work for everyone. When you press the 'L' key to turn on LOS, have a window pop up somewhere on the screen. In that window will be various buttons to toggle the different LOS's on and off. So a toggle for
- normal LOS (just the units),
- Radar/Radar Jamming
- Sonar/Sonar Jamming
- Anything else that is turned on in the LOS menu
- Toggle for the coloured LOS map, and circles

Hay-o No! Don't ditch the FPS camera in RTS mode! I'm an FPS camera mode adict! (Though I wouldn't mind the ability to not have to cycle through all them OTHER camera modes!)
Hmmm.... Okay I agree, I'd like a way to filter out undesireable camera modes. Just so long as we don't eliminate any of them.
(I'm always having problems accidentally when I accidentally try and swing my cam around and I'm holding down shift and suddenly my cam flies out of control into a top down... Drives me NUTS! That and starting out in a LAN game in non FPS mode. That too drives me nuts, but at least I'm somewhat used it by now.)
I think that the settings.exe just needs a little button saying "Camera Views" and then it opens to a menu that has a check box for each type and a little "Default" circlular selector (I don't know name for them.)
Anyway that's my thoughts on that.
