springlobby won't pickup that i've opened ports
Springlobby always seems to say that i can't have incomming packets on 8452, yet i have put it in my router ?
Ands when i select hole punching the whole program turns grey and stops responding.
Using the latest ubuntu.

Re: springlobby won't pickup that i've opened ports
springlobby calls a php script on a remote host to determine portforwarding capability. Currently that script (on aegis box) is unreachable, therefore test always fails. In newer revisions the error message is much more informative than simply "fail". Bug Yokozar about updating the buntu package if you want, or compile from source.
As for the turning grey, i'd rather have you try out a more recent version before starting to debug the older rev.

I updated the package, doesn't turn grey anymore, any ideas when the router test will work again?
Re: springlobby won't pickup that i've opened ports
a) when uberserver replaces tasserver as main lobby server (uberserver will have portforward test included)
b) if someone bugs aegis enough to put the script up again (tho iirc there was also some issue with his isp)

How resource intensive was the script? Could possibly put it up on mine hosting, give me a PM if you would like me to.
Re: springlobby won't pickup that i've opened ports
the issue was with ports not being forwarded any longer i think. Hosting is not the real issue, i could host it no problem on springlobby.info. The script url is hardcoded tho, which is the main issue there.

Re: springlobby won't pickup that i've opened ports
What do you mean hardcoded? Why can't you have the url to the script taken from a config file so it can be easily edited

Re: springlobby won't pickup that i've opened ports
oh foresight what wonderful beast you are!
*insert yoda speech, replacing "the dark side" with "hardcoding stuff"*
i'll ask aegis if we can remedy this short term

uh what? lol sorry my forum humour is not very good, what did your post mean lol
Re: springlobby won't pickup that i've opened ports
my (possibly poor, been a long day already) attempt at describing that a) hardcoding stuff should be avioded and b) that knowing stuff might break beforehand is awesome.
anyways, here's to the matter:

[21:56:48]<_koshi_> anything we can do about that portforward test script for existing clients?

[21:57:41]<[7uP]aegis> just disable it for now
[21:57:46]<[7uP]aegis> uberserver shouldn't be long
[21:58:41]<_koshi_> i mean for older clients. in newer clients a message is outputted that server isn't reachable and user should just disable the check
[21:59:05]<[7uP]aegis> I don't have access to the server right now
[21:59:14]<_koshi_> i see

I have the most up-to-date version from the springlobby website, i get no "server cant be reached" error, still says my router is wrong
