Re: Random WIP
Stop applying logic to it.. Id say its a giant piece of crap and the designer should be shot in the foot for wasting valuable time and energy "realizing" that design.. As far as military value that thing doesnt make ANY sense and all of what your saying could be done witha superior design..

Re: Random WIP
For those who missed it, I posted it as one of the stupidest designs to grace the star wars universe. It will not be seen in IW

Re: Random WIP
This is from an era where pigeons where experimented with to see if they could drop bombs in packages over enemy cities and people tried to fly by flapping makeshift wings for TV.

Re: Random WIP
Does the exclusion from IW also cover the Dwarf Spider, which you posted an image of in the same post? If so, I have to warn you that The New Essential Guide to Droids says that the Imperial Remnant did use Dwarf Spiders as fire support for stormtroopers.Warlord Zsinj wrote:For those who missed it, I posted it as one of the stupidest designs to grace the star wars universe. Re: Random WIP
The dwarf spider may make an appearance later for another faction, but there are no plans to include it for either of the two sides planned for our major release.
Re: Random WIP
And hope to hell that the enemy don't think of blowing your highly exposed tracks apart.AF wrote:Id think this is intended as more of a battering ram than a high mobility unit. Face it in the direction of the front-line in a big push or a heavily fortified position, start the engine and fire at will. When the fightings all over pick it up and drop it at the next battle.

Re: Random WIP
Cute model.
Might be worth a retexture though, your more recent stuff is several levels of ability ahead of this one.

It's nice, I like the general idea, but it doesn't feel natural. It's probably because of the joints and how blocky it is: it's all straight edges, 90/45 degree corners etc, whilst the legs just go straight into the body with no real indication of joints or attachment, and it's the same with the segments: it looks like they're separate pieces that are intersecting rather than all one big, moving object.

The first picture is how it started out, the last picture is how it ended up. Please pay attention to both...
Re: Random WIP
Be a man and admit that it is a shitty model

Re: Random WIP
Check this out:
Wadda ya think? It is supposed to be a new Warrior.

Re: Random WIP
Looks a bit 50s sci-fi. Cool concept, but in my opinion a riot unit should be bulky, robust, and able to aim at small things. The thin, unjointed arms don't suit this.
Also the guns themselves look a bit oversized for an anti-swarm role, and the warrior in CA has a shotgun weapon which might be nice to have modelled somewhere, if this is for CA.
Personally I'd aim for something other than the warrior with this model.

Re: Random WIP
Maybe a T2 attack kbot or sumtin
Any ideas?

Any ideas?
Re: Random WIP
There is no existing kbot like that - a rapid-fire low-armor kbot. Only thing I can think of that could use such a model would be the Peewee.
Re: Random WIP
Maybe it's an upper-end T1 bot for the next side in CA :) Which could have an updated older sci fi feel, bet there's loads of inspiration there... war of the worlds tripods and old dr who stuff...
Actually though, that would look pretty cool as a T2 or even T3 bot if it was quite big, slow, stompy and took a while for the guns to power up before unleashing general lasery mayhem.

Re: Random WIP
A bit of modification:
Added some frontal armor, added extra gun supports and made the guns smaller:
Any better?
EDIT-Here's the model(since i am still a noob at texturing, someone else can do it and/or improve it). Feel free to use in any mod/game you wish
