New Unit Models

Post by FoeOfTheBee »

New XTA unit models could be really good fot other OTA-based mods. The main reason I don't play the other OTA-based mods is that the units look the same, but are not.

Well, now that I'm used to XTA, many OTA units look the same but in their capabilities are a different unit.

ah yeps, like AKs.. are useless in OTA, but are very usefull in xta.

anyhow... i must say im not sure of the cost of the aks in ota(or pewees), if aks were really cheap, then it may be balanced after all... you only need like 2.5 ota aks per 1 xta ak.

OTA had the models first. XTA should go get new ones ;)

agreed. Evolva should be for XTA, standard for OTA, imo.

Many of the evolva units are very similar, just with a few added complexities; I hardly think that this would solve the problem.

And what happens when the high-poly units come out? Everyone will want them.

That was, indeed, one of the main issues in the early life of Spring. People were used to oTA and were having problems with them beeing diferent in XTA while looking the same.

Playing your first game of XTA is a little disorienting. You don't realize it until too late in your first game, and Sumos with 10k armor and hella-long-range lasers kill outlying defenders from a different time zone and walk through your base without much more than scratched paint. THEN you start actually looking at what HP different units have, and it's like sticker-shock.
