Trying to get MapConv

Post by zenith24 »

This site is just great (no pun intended). After reading the necessary stuff I needed for mod & map making I wanted to eat the pudding. But somehow I can't find MapConv.exe on the Internet. http://www.fileuniverse.net seems to be gone......and I tried building it from the source, but after several hours of painstaking arguments with my Cygwin installation I gave up. Any ideas of where I can find a good MapConv.exe ? Please, me and my friends really want to use the Spring engine.

It's actually spelt www.fileuniverse.com and while it was taken by a fire yesterday, there is a mirror at http://fu.luckz.de which however doesn't mirror Spring files but anyway, FileUniverse Spring section is so outdated you should follow previous posters links instead.

Also, why Cygwin? I run my mapconv from plain Windows2000, passing the arguments either with a Microsoft Windows shortcut or a dos-reminding .bat file.

And, uh, you know you are your friends do not have to compile your own maps to enjoy Spring?
