You could easily cut a hundred polygons if you made all of those cylinders into a single object.

it is scaling down your image because it is too big. For what you are showing us you can afford to scale it down to say 500-400 pixels across. But yeah, the forum auto scales pics so they do not break the layout.

Indeed, I'm aware that I could reduce poly count by doing that. I did that on purpose, so the model looks better without texture.

Is that a small bevelled surface at the end of the outer casing? Im not sure but it seems a bit pointless

Otherwise a good effort ^_^

The barrels on the launchers are quite borked to the point of unfunniness. You just added an extra vert and welded the two together didn't you?

One minor design qualm- the launchers' mounting to the hull looks really flimsy, as if they would fall off from their own weight.

You know, while I love a good critiqueing process, it might be better just to slap a skin on the sucker and say NEXT! CA has HOW many units? You'll never get through them all with that attitude. You'd need Argh's approach of wham-bam-hawt-secks-model-with-minimal-work to get through all of CA even if you had a whole squad of modelers.

But yeah, look at the side-view profile. The feet aren't under the centre of gravity - they're way forwards. Even with the nice Boo-style head-tail-spike-thing removed, it still looks back-heavy.

Now, you can take that advice, or just skin and COB the sucker and say NEXT!

A whole squad of modelers would be useless.

We have tons here but the reason nothing is made on a large scale is due to the lack of people to map/texture/script/and get the unit ingame.

i really love the model

But i wunder if it keeps standing without firering how many times it would role over after fiering.

Fix it and its win

Well, by "modelers" I meant "people capable of getting a unit fully functional in such a manner that replaces the TA unit", which would include scripting if no suitable non-cavedog script was available, but yes, I should've clarified that.

the back of the missile pods are a seperate piece and are not welded on cos the pods raise when it fires (check back a page or two in this tread to see what i mean)

and the missile pod firing points are not flat cause missiles coming out of sumthing thats flat looks ugly and stupid imo so the point is raised then extruded backwards to make an indent i also made it this way to look more like the original storm in that respect

the pods are connected to the body u cant see it clearly tho there are 2 pivoting points coming out of the body and i can easilly change the center of gravity if need be

you could also add a propeller and cut the feet

I will say it once more... look at that ridge on the head. and I will give you another hint... edges that meet in T shapes in the middle of a face are bad.

fgon = polygon with 5 vertices or more, not good unless it's planar, by the way.

Go ahead, I'd like to see the finished model with spec maps and everything in the game. Maybe you'll see and more importantly learn from your mistakes then. :P

Otherside, you can either keep up the combative attitude or realize that we are trying to help you.
