The Patlabor Brocken (or Type-7B/2B Brocken), piloted by Noa Izumi, is based upon the series ├óÔé¼┼ôPatlabor, Mobile Police├óÔé¼┬Ø.

Re: Spherebot Family Fumblings
Its not that the lowest end of the tech tree should look cheap, the point is it should look cheap compared to the next level up.
But all this assumes that the lower end of the tech tree is cheaper and weaker than the higher end of the tech tree, whereas it may eb that the higher up the tech tree you go, the more specialized you get, not the more powerful/expensive.

Re: Spherebot Family Fumblings
Sure, but while there's a lot of talk about CA becoming a totally new game, I can't see it straying too far from the TA model for a while yet.
Also, if the early units are cheap, I think by inference there is a need in later units for a specialised 'heavy' unit to capitalise on the niche created by a surplus of light cheap units. So it can almost be deduced that there will have to be heavier units in the later levels. I mean, it depends on the game design a bit, but see my first paragraph.

Re: Spherebot Family Fumblings
No offense, guys, but the T3 lineup from TA looks one for one much worse than T1 and T2. The fascination with the Krogoth never made sense to me, for instance.
Re: Spherebot Family Fumblings
Krog is a giant mech thingeh that has a BLOD. Nuff said.

aha, found it.

Re: Spherebot Family Fumblings
Lineup? The Krog was all there was (unless you count seaplanes as T3).neddiedrow wrote:No offense, guys, but the T3 lineup from TA looks one for one much worse than T1 and T2. The fascination with the Krogoth never made sense to me, for instance.
Re: Spherebot Family Fumblings
Yeah, but the majority of the players here don't know that KDR. I said TA, not OTA - I'm referring to the TA+Whatever soup that the *A mods are based upon.
Re: Spherebot Family Fumblings
Actually, check out the AK here. Its inspired by his stuff, naturally, not faithful reproduction, to avoid any copyright issues.
Either way, the spherebot has a sort of starcraft marine/space marine/infantry thing going on, so it fits well as a small spammy unit. Yeah, it looks high tech and large and intimidating- its 30 feet tall. THATS conveying scale. On the whole, its relatively light and streamlined- way more than the entirely square, boxy peewee.
Btw, CA Arm (tentatively titled 'Nova') dont use clones, nobody does, its just robots, made by Man, now extinct and revered as a creator god among his warlike progeny. Nova are about form and are more aesthetic, and mimic organic shapes in their construction (they even have two eyes just like humans- only they got them the wrong way around >_<) while core (tentatively titled 'Logos') are more pragmatic rationals (though dogmatic and rigid).
