The "problem" imo is that it currently looks a bit too much like some sort of claws and so the hooks will actually draw more attention than the "guns" (especially at a distance) and I think it should be the other way round...

Well I'm looking forward to see how you've planned this texture-wise... :-)

We had a perfectly nice PEEWEE that was replaced by an anime style mech... and no objections. I make a morty and people cry about it being gundam... when most of the influence was macross.. You know I don't fucking care anymore fine spring forum you win.

I love your spherebot - I just don't know why people are always crying, if you change a design of a model - I don't know if they are conservative or just constitutive naysayers.

No, it's ugly. Even apart from the visual design, it's got visible tears and an awful texture. IIRC, you were the one who made it, so it's a bit ridiculous to be defending it like that. You're far worse than smoth in the "ignoring criticism" stakes.

Well imo the Peewee and its design just were a classic - it for some reason had more character than an AK and together with the Krogoth for example was one of the units you really remembered. That's why I don't like to have a totally new replacement for this classic...

When it comes to the Spherebot itself I really like the design except for one fact - that tommygun is somehow silly imo. Just like having the Maverick doing the Yehaaa cowboy style revolver pulling he sort of has this mafia style tommygun also showing plain bullets on the texture...

But well this thread is about the AK so we should focus more on that... ^^

but spherebot got alot of praise as welll


just work on the AK and ignore whiney this is not like OTA posts (said peopel deserve bullets in head)

my most memorable and faivourite OTA unit is by far the peewee but can appreciate renditions and replacements that bare little resemblance to the original design

Look, I probably didn't makes this clear, but the model sucks ass as a PeeWee model. The styling really makes no sense at all in comparison with everything else ARM has. Other than that, it's not my place to say whether the modeling itself sucks or not.

that model is way better than ota 's model. i don't see your guy's problem with it. the current outdated models look like aboslute crap.

I think that alot of the cause of the gripes, is how much this model resembles the Pewee more than it does the original AK model.

The backpack and squared shoulders and head is mostly what it doing it IMO.

This is the biggest gripe that I got about my models at first too, people wanted to see their same beloved model more than they wanted to see something completely different, regardless of its quality.

Biggest difference between the AK and Pewee is that the Pewee is more a collection of square boxes, and the AK is more triangular and angled looking.

What I do when I rebuild my models, is to use the original as a template basically, and elaborate the shapes already there in the model, give or take a few.

Not that what you have there is wrong or bad in any way Smoth, it just doesn't give the look of the original AK model as much as what people probably would expect from a redo in CORE's style.
