I do not think that would work, as in the same way it happens to rocks, differences between the economy systems of mods and health/range/firepower/etc of units would screw it :) For example I think it would hardly be fun in BA because by the time the chickens start to get serious you would already have ubber economy and they would be no match.

JK made the widget its been bundled with CA for a long while (only start using it on new rig cos its nvidia only)

nvidia 7600 and above can run this

as far as performance hit there is a bit but i cant really tell because i usually run a steady 60 frames

Meet the chickens (this is still a WIP so there will be more chickens and new features)

chickens are also a secret playable faction in CA with eco and are based around morphing and burrows

from left to right

Lobber (blue artillery chicken) , Listener ( brown burrowing seismic detector chicken) , Spherebot MkI (not a chicken :P) , Spiker (green skirmish chicken) , Basilisk (blue all terrain assault chicken) , Queen (purple/pink kroglike uber chicken) , Dodo (red tiny kamikaze chicken), Digger (brown burrowing chicken), Drone (dirty Builder/morph chicken), Cockatrice (red melee assault chicken) , Chicken (blue chicken), Spherebot MKII (not a chicken :P)

and finally flying in the background is the flying chicken the talon

more chickens coming soon :P

aah troo forgot (mortys been in CA for ages i keep forgetting about him even tho hes a awesome model)

i also left out some other new core like the avenger

those are just all Mr D's models

Holy crap awsome shader!

Would there be any way to override the map to darken the shadow on the landscape, though? With the outline they look very pasted-on. A darker cast shadow might help them graft back to the ground a bit.

Is that shader going to be bundled into a reusable widget for others to filch?

good news for chicken fans a new mode has been released by quantum

Mex's are disabled and you can only get metal via reclaiming eggs (model by me :D) eggs are spawned when you kill chickens and can be reclaimed for metal value depending on how hard the chicken is. Survive and fight wisely to see if you can kill the chicken queen :D
