The closest you will get to OTA is either BOTA or XTA or Hardcore Annihilation.

After one seens spring he cannot play the original TA... its interface sucks too much :)

Actually, spring's interface is also pretty bad. I am trying to replicate something like Warzone 2100's visual interface, which will combine the power of quickly selecting any unit on the field with even more immense power of having a second mouse button, and even a third.

Springs interface is the best I've seen in a game. Things like area commands and repeat are very good things that other games don't have.

in terms of functionality, springs interface is brilliant
it does look a little cruddy though..

Some people would say that getting hard on account of a Strategy, Robots-killing-eachother game, is not a healthy read-out of your mental faculties.
