Hi I was wondering if anyone can make a keyboard shortcut widget.
What it should do is display default shortcuts and what they do when u turn the widget on.
I was thinking that might replace eyes.
Keyboard shortcuts widget.

I think the CA interface does that. What really would be nice is an UI for binding keys.

Does in Evo as well (using that menu that quantum created). It could be made to be a bit more visible though.
Re: Keyboard shortcuts widget.
There already are multiple UIs for binding keys in game, the /bind /unbind chat commands, and there is a special mode (don't ask me how to enter it) where you can click a build button and then press a key and it will assign that key to that buildbutton.ZellSF wrote:I think the CA interface does that. Maybe you mean a GUI though

Re: Keyboard shortcuts widget.
As are all the bindings themselves. Anything to do with binding goes in uikeys.txt, if you are a noob, sniff around in there. It is quite useful to mess with.trepan wrote:Hotbinding is described in uikeys.txt

Oh man, sniffing around in uikeys.txt was very frustrating on my first try.
Every bind line was commented out (I know those are the default binds), I didnt notice I had to unbind a key in order to rebind it. Also it didnt tell me you could use the buildunit_* binds :)
I had to consult a pro to actually make it work.

Re: Keyboard shortcuts widget.
You do not have to unbind. You can bind 1 key to multiple actions.
