Very strange problem with Spring performance
So, mine game lags like hell when there are about 500 units. 200 moving tanks decreases mine FPS to 10-14. I have Pentium D 820 (2x 2.8 ghz), GeForce 7600 GS and 1GB Ram. I was asking people, and they told me to turn off "Threaded Optimization" option in driver. And there is first problem, i have Polish version, but there aren't any options about cores and Processor. (i have newest version) I tried to CPU Affnity, but it started to run worse. From 10-14 to 4-6 fps. It's happening on all mods. Any ideas?

Re: Very strange problem with Spring performance
Update your nvidia drivers to the latest english ones : http://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/1 ... h_whql.exe
Then, in the nvidia control panel :
In the program settings tab, add spring.exe and finaly, disable the threaded optimization.
Threaded optimization causes a huge fps dropdown when enabled but I don't thing it is your trouble. Spring is CPU hungry and your Prescott CPU is a bad one (sorry). Moving 200 units needs a lot of CPU causing a bottleneck for graphic computing.
Try to lower some spring settings to improve if it's your last chance.

Re: Very strange problem with Spring performance
I downloaded latest English version, but it don't wanna to change language... maybe i need to uninstall polish driver?
Re: Very strange problem with Spring performance
Help yourself, changing drivers is not so difficult.
Re: Very strange problem with Spring performance
I have english!! Yay!!
But there's another problem.
I don't have that option. What do i need to change to have it? (i have Advanced CP ofc.)

And please, don't mess the global params, restore default. Only use specific program settings.
Re: Very strange problem with Spring performance
I used Program settings, added Spring.exe and there aren't that option too..
Re: Very strange problem with Spring performance
Same version here and it's available. Maybe your gfx card doesn't have this setting, that would explain the non availability in driver settings.
Only solution is to lower your settings or buy a new comp.

Re: Very strange problem with Spring performance
this solution is for 8xxx series it has nothing to do with that, i guess your cpu just sucks ... it's like a c2c 1.8Ghz ? and 7600 GS are not really powerful
Re: Very strange problem with Spring performance
Intel P4 are crap, they are half powerful as Intel Core at the same frequency.

Re: Very strange problem with Spring performance
ah, it's a pity... but i'm thinking about Core 2 Duo E7200, do it will be good for spring?
Re: Very strange problem with Spring performance
Core2duo is good for everything
