I didnt knew about that cat thing... none of then shall ever cross the still-to-be-built gates of my fort! :)

Wouldnt what that guy did cause something like making all dwarves go mad due to accumulated sadness? And wouldnt that happen just as he ran out of barrels to put wine in, creating a dangerous crisis? :)

This tile set is really good, but I fell sort of anyoed that 2/3 of the screen are occupied with black space :( Anyone knows if there is a way to use it with the whole screen?

Nope... it's 20x80 (or whatever)tiles so the only way for it to take up more screen is to use non-square tiles.

25x80, I _think_. Not on my DF machine so I can't check at the moment. And yeah, a taller screen would be my #1 wish for the next version, I think. Well, that or a Mac version of Dwarven Prospector so I can start a Hidden Fun Stuff fort on my mac.

Thats too bad :( I just noticed that in the normal version there is the same number of stuff on screen, but streched, so it seens the screen is left-right retangular and making stuff square makes it small.

For some reason the capital o (O) is screwed up in my tile set, and aparears as a big solid square. Since its just one letter I dont really mind it but I find it weird anyway. Anyone else has this?

the capital O is a pillar in the game so the author of the graphics set replaced it... as it's only one letter I don't mind... the bay12 guys seem to be slowly allowing different characters to be used in different contexts but not in the case of terrain tiles... you'll notice that the k is actually replaced with a kobold picture but the k is fine in the font...

Its not only one letter tough, there are some more, such as (.) that becomes grass then typed. Anyway I couldnt stand playing with a 2/3 smaller screen than usual so I ended up removing it...

Anybody knows what can keep a dwarve from climbing up a ramp? I had a weird accident that forced me to start a new fortress (Not really but I didnt wanted to wait a year and make commerce to get new picks, and I was out of ore so I couldnt make new ones) where my miners went down a ramp but couldnt go back, and I didnt noticed till they got very hungry and stoped obeying orders to hunt for vermin, and after this point they would probally do nothing till they died anyway.

Hero's fall.

It's the middle of Limestone, 1057. The yearly dwarven caravan from the mountainhomes had just arrived when the goblins struck at full force. They attacked at the least convenient moment conceivable: my army was busy fighting the prisoners of war in the arena.

Only a single squad was ready to go to war, but it was a formidable one.
Champion Ral Tostetur, the most senior member of the Basementduties Defense, and Monon Medtobtathur, a newly promoted Champion, stormed out to cover the caravans retreat. The caravan guards were fighting the goblins in the east, taking heavy casualties. A hammerlord and his apprentice macedwarf joined their fight, sustaining mild wounds.

Meanwhile, two squads of goblins, equipped with hammers and spears, led by two elite marksgoblins were approaching from the east, ready to storm the fortress while the rest of my military was taking a well deserved nap. Ral, Monon and a macedwarf took on the two goblin squads, kicking some serious ass. Until the elite marksgoblins got in range. Ral and Monon tried to make their way to the bolt-shooting bastards, throwing multiple goblins in the air on the way. Ral took several bolts of of the finest goblin iron, arriving at the goblin master as a pincussion.

Meanwhile, Monon managed to kill the other goblin master. Heavily wounded, he was surrounded by goblin spearmen. He managed to kill most of them before collapsing in the moat.

Ral, having slaughtered about half of all goblins, fell to his wounds fighting the goblin master. The macedwarf finished off the pummeled goblin as the rest of the gobbos retreated.

Some time later, the rest of my military woke up, only to see the carnage outside.
Basementduties lost 2 legendary champions. My current goal is to give them opulent obsidian mausoleums with epic engravings of the battle of Limestone 1057.

It aint a Dwarven fortress if you dont have a MASSIVE mausoleum with masterpiece statues depicting each dwarf's doom and tale for younger generations <3

Because you can't order a dwarf to wake up, and if they are exhausted (say, from fighting prisoners in the arena to build up their skills) they will go to sleep instead of going to battle.

That sounds sort of anyoing, I mean, what arm would not awake, even if exausted, to avoid being killed in their sleep?
