Back when I rejoined this community after getting out of school, I wrote a long post waxing poetic about how awesome and unique this project was, and how a few dedicated engine devs and a few motivated content devs had created something really special here, and how this was probably the best open source game engine out there... and people were like "Uh, dude, we're not curing cancer, it's just a game..."
I still think Spring is pretty fucking epicwin.

Imagine if you'd put all that work into curing cancer instead. You'd be millionaires and heroes!
But Spring is nice.

Damn, it seems as if its been longer than that.
I still remember the first lobby. Playing with people like mong & mother that I haven't seen in ages. Back when the lobby averaged 5 - 10 people heh. And we didn't even have 20 (10!?) maps to choose from.
We've come a long way! I still think this is the most interesting open source program that I've ever come across.

So the first discussion to happen in the lobby was about how to get to download spring in less than 9 hours?... Could be something more epic... :)
